This show isn't getting much hype and that's sad. When it has great pacing, beautiful story, well-developed characters, cinematic, and lots more.
I don't know if people are scared that it will be toxic. It's not. It's beautiful.

Let me explain. If a show is extremely hyped and loved by thousands of people, even those who don't usually enjoy that genre will pick interest. And it gets dicey because they know they don't like cute tops or silly characters, but they'll force themselves to sit through it, simply because of the people who like that sort of thing. Now their criticism is deeply biased (negatively) because no matter how good the show is, they'll say it's overrated and cringe. That's why if I see a show that's not my thing, I stop.

If it's not your thing, then it's not your thing. Don’t force yourself to watch then come here to drop a biased bad rating.

And yes, I get that dmd likes to write cutesy characters. But they've gone past cutesy for nothing. Khemjira, next prince, and dwy all show this. Dwy is probably the first show I've seen where the top is obsessed in a cute way but is also extremely conscious of when to give up. That's one thing that's special about Duang.

Duang seems like an overstimulated extrovert rather than a child. And yeah you don't care for him in the beginning but the writers redeem themselves by showing that he's a perceptive character and quite mature where it counts. And no one needs an "extra" loving person like Qin. So it fit well that the person he falls for is the kind that isn't afraid to show him love very very very very loudly.

Then you're introduced to Duang's family and you realize there's a reason why he's like that.

Yes because it's what you salivated about before you hit post. Bet you were vibrating from all the negative bashing attention you were about to get. Congratulations. But next time, choose self-respect.

Buddy being unserious does not imply that she's not loving. Her most outward expression of her personality is extremely extroverted. We clearly saw her do other things but the most prominent was her extroverted behavior. Duang was made by both parents, no? He's clearly sensible and deeply perceptive where it's necessary, that's a trait that could be attributed to his father also. Why are you insistent on him being from his mother alone??

Duang's parents: his father is that serious part of Duang we get to see every few episodes, like when he almost punched that guy or talked Qin into reconciling with his parents.

Duang's mother is everything else. I love that they complement Duang so much

Qin's parents: I swear, y'all are just a little bit better than Pai's parent so I'll cut you the tiniest slack. But you're still f*cked up.

It was so full of sugar and a little sour with Qin's parents confrontation.

This show would've scaled higher than ever, if they'd just managed the angst. I mean the entire thing was built on it.

Whenever I watch Pai, I still can't get over how he was completely destroyed. How that immaculate, proud man was tarnished and brought to nothing and we're just supposed to laugh along? Like, there's nothing funny.

Tim wanting to stay, is not even remotely enough. They handled this poorly.

Or don't get me started on the parents. No order will keep me away from my distressed son. I don't care who gives it.


I still love the show, still watching it. I just wish they'd handled the reveal better. Even Yu had to suffer and sleep in a dog cage. There's no satisfaction. If the angst was good, the audience would be the ones begging Pai to take Tim back. Because then, he'd be pulling our heartstrings like Van(Java) in that one episode where he cried while packing his things.

Suddenly, no one cared that he'd been a total douchebag. We just wanted him to be happy again. Same should've been for Tim and even worse.

I'm holding out hope that there'll be some resolution in the last two episodes. The actors are killin it btw.

I just want to remind people that one of the reasons why Duang's gift freaked Qin out, is because all his parents ever gave him, is money. He automatically doesn't translate outlandish gifts as love. It's one of the reasons why he kept that stupid doll for years. He'd rather preserve a silly sticker with Duang's face on it, than that present. Because it would mean you're passing over all the other things he craves, with money. And he didn't want that with Duang.

I mean Qin has money already. His shoes alone can pay Duang's rent.

Not saying Duang was wrong. Our cutie was absolutely justified for surprising Qin with the thing he wanted. And I'm glad he understood in the end. Also happy that Qin found a perfect solution.
