When the project was announced last year it was rumored for Bai Jingting. Peng YuChang but after the rumor casting Jianci appeared I don't think I had seen any other actor.

I totally didn't think he will take the serious time type. He hinted that he want to progress slowly and want to be seen as being too eager for an award. While still young he can explore more genres and let those serious roles to the future.

Maybe because I have been comparing the treatment he got with ZWY so I find it lacking.
Right after lyf1 he had a modern drama airing and he was also filming with WCR. Then after lyf2 his drama with WCR aired but not LHF. When Filter was broadcasting they cut of it heat so it's can't surpass ZWY's drama. More than that they always schedule JC's drama when there's a strong competition. LMLMV aired in the same time as A Journey To Love. Under The Skin 2 when there was an criminal investigation drama in Iqiyi. You know what happened with Filter 😮‍💨

Where did you get the impression that Tencent favor him? The 1st season originally aired in Iqiyi Under The Skin it later got licensed in Tencent after it got popular. LMLMV aired without proper promotion there wasn't even press conference promo. They dropped Filter when the competition was fierce between modern drama but rather than promoting it probably they've been swallowing the data in fear that his drama will outshine the one they want to promote.

He's now in period where he can be picky about scripts and not join one drama after another in hope for one of them will hit the jackpot.
