I finished reading the book like maybe 5 days ago and i loved it. Realized thereās a drama adaptation and got to watching all 33 episodes in 4-5 days. Would have been less but i was away for 2 days. Anyway, one of my top 5 favorite dramas. The book and the drama have a bit different things to them but they both have a lot of things i love despite some changes and differences. I reread the book while i was away for 2 days and couldnāt watch the drama. Pretty sure Iām gonna reread the book again either tonight or tomorrow.
FYI, i was shocked when the ML was introduced cause i didnāt think he was good looking and his hair was just so weird but it grew on me and i feel like he has so much charisma and charm even though he doesnāt have the usual good looks you see in an idol. Love his ending song. Iām now a huge fan of him and the lead actress. They have soooo much chemistry.
I love whodunit shows and i love this drama. I was going through Angelababyās dramas and this seemed the most interesting. 24 hours later, i finished it. 8.5/10 for me only for the fact that i wonāt rewatched but it kept me entertained the whole 16 episodes.
I like the story but it really bothers me that they all see the female lead as the most gorgeous person in the planet cause 1. Sheās too old looking to play the role and 2. She isnāt good looking. I just came off watching the Princess Weiyoung before this so i was spoiled with how good looking Tiffany Tang is. She actually played a pretty average looking girl who isnāt supposed to be as pretty as her sister but letās be honest now.. Tiffany Tang is better looking than 99% of Chinese actresses and definitely 20x better looking than the actress who played her sister. Ruby and Tiffany can switched roles and it will make much more sense. But anyhoā¦ thatās just my rant lol. I enjoyed the story otherwise though i really lost interest once Wallace was gone.
The story is similar to the Princess Weiyoung but Fu Ya isnāt as adorable or as smart as Li Weiyoung. They tried but failed. Yes, Iām aware the drama came out 5 years earlier than the Princess Weiyoung but thatās what they were trying to convey. Otherwise, i did enjoy some parts of the story though i wonāt be reading the book (i am almost done reading the Princess Weiyang novel at the moment.)
