Well, all the issues have been resolved. Luohou Jidu does not want revenge anymore, YuanLang died, the good sects also know that the Heaven was bad and not all demon are bad. Who will be the opponent if there is a battle in the 2 year skip? And if we get another battle, won't it be dragging?

I think Ruoyuo already got enough screentime, and his ending is his redemption considering what he has done in the whole show. And there is new rule in China that historical drama must be less than 60 ep. That's why they tried to fit and reduce the screentime of some side characters

I agree though they should give us more about the Monkey and Fox. Well ,at least we get proper closure of them and everyone (and wedding :) ), which is rare in a Xianxia drama.

They did invite Ting Nu to the wedding but he did not come. That's why Xuan Ji got a box of pearls (merman tears).

Can we download the subtitle files (.srt or .ass) there? I thought they only provide the hard-subbed video.

I watched AOL when it was airing and liked it a lot. If I have to find fault, it would be the lack of screen time…
I think the sorrow Xuanji feels is nowhere near as Jinmi.

Xuanji founds what Sifeng did little by little, not like Jinmi who found everything in one go. Xuanji also did not kill Sifeng unjustifiedly, and lastly she only watch her past instead of experiencing by herself. I did not even feel it climatic, probably because we already know Sifeng did that. I do agree though YBY could have cried better after Xuanji found out about the past,

Having said that, I do like her crying scenes when Sifeng almost died and when Sifeng recovered. It feels natural and consistent with Xuanji character.

Yes, Yangzi and Denglun acted extremely well in the crying scene; there are no heart wrenching scene like that in L&R. Not too mention, the OST (Unsullied especially) really supported that kind of scene.

But to be fair, the gravity of the sad plot in AoL and L&R is different. L&R has much happier story comparing to AoL, so I don't think L&R needs that kind of dramatic scenes.

Nope, I was also not irritated by XJ, I actually like her character very much.

Instead of an ignorant, 'dumb', selfish, and childish character that we often see in an FL, XuanJi is a childlike person who learns by mimicking or does what other people taught her, mostly from (spoiled) Linglong, Haochen, and lastly SiFeng. From the beginning she is morally right, kind, and unselfish. Even when she matures, she still retain these positive characters.

I applaud Yuan Bingyuan for potraying Xuanji childlikeness, not overly done it and not making her annoying.

Please somebody that already finished watch this series and ever watch Ashes of Love too..I need some explanation…
Although they have many similarities, they are very different.
Love story in AoL is rather sudden. IMO, the touching scenes are not because of the story, but rather because of specific scenes, especially after ep 45ish. YangZi, DengLun, and Luo Yun Xi did a wonderful job potraying heart wrenching scenes in AoL.
L&R , on the other hand, is a very long journey of the FL who is learning about emotion and love, little by little. Only after you see and understand what has been actually happening that you will feel very touched. But because of that, I personally like L&R more: it simply makes more sense. You see their progress, their love, and their devotion to each other, which I didn't find in AoL.

To answer your questions:
1. you should watch L&R, but if you dont like it now, maybe take a short break first.
2. I think what people find most touching from L&R is SiFeng, not XuanJi.
3. She will not become dumber, but situation (people around her), and SiFeng 'force' her to take 'dumb' action (ep 40ish). If you see from her point of view, the action are very understandable though. But even in this 'dumb' situation, you can see that she still supports and cares for SiFeng.
