“Drama isn’t just entertainment. It’s a passion, a mirror of the soul, a journey into the depth of human emotions.”

Hello everyone,
I’m Akiko Meguro, a wholehearted drama enthusiast. For years now, I’ve lived, breathed, felt, and vibed with the rhythm of Asian dramas—whether they come from Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, or anywhere else in Asia.
kisskh has become my emotional journal, a space where I track every heartfelt moment, every tear, every laugh, every unexpected discovery, and all those sleepless nights spent binge-watching without pause.

How it all began

It started quite by accident... or maybe it was fate.
One evening, I stumbled upon a Japanese drama. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen before—subtle direction, a unique atmosphere, deep characters, meaningful silences, raw emotions. From that day on, I never looked at fiction the same way again. I dove into K-dramas, then Chinese dramas, Taiwanese ones, Thai lakorns... and from there, my deep passion for dramas was born.

What I love about dramas

Dramas have this incredible power to explore the complexity of human relationships.
Love, friendship, family, betrayal, redemption, dreams, sacrifice… each drama pulls me into a universe where emotions are real, stakes feel intense, and the stories feel universal—even when rooted in cultures different from my own.

I love to feel, to cry, to laugh, to get mad, to shiver, to relate, or to completely escape.
These stories remind me of who I am—my strengths and flaws, hopes and pains.
I also love seeing how each country tells its stories with its own cultural identity, its own style of directing, acting, and pacing.
I'm especially drawn to dramas with personal growth, slow-burn romance, psychological exploration, and those bittersweet stories that leave a mark on my heart.

The countries I watch the most

Japan (J-dramas): I love their realism, poetic simplicity, and quiet intimacy. Japanese dramas say a lot with very little. Subtle, contemplative, deeply human.
South Korea (K-dramas): Addictive, emotional, beautifully produced. Korean dramas make me dream and cry. The storytelling, the music, the visuals—everything feels polished and powerful.
China (C-dramas): Whether it’s epic historical series or modern love stories, Chinese dramas transport me into richly detailed, elegant worlds. Sometimes slow-paced, but always worth it.
Thailand (Lakorns and BL): Passionate, intense, unpredictable. I enjoy their bold mix of traditional and modern elements.
Taiwan: Raw, heartfelt, realistic. I admire the emotional authenticity in many Taiwanese dramas.

My favorite genres

  • Romance (all forms)
  • Melodrama / Tragedy
  • Slice of Life / Realistic
  • School / Youth-centered stories
  • Psychological / Human drama
  • Mystery / Thriller / Crime
  • Workplace dramas
  • Smart romantic comedies
  • Historical dramas
  • Stories about healing and personal growth

What I look for in a drama

Above all, I seek genuine emotion.
I don’t just want to watch a story—I want to live it.
I love it when a drama haunts me days after finishing it—when I still think about the characters as if they were real, when I replay scenes in my mind, when I carry the story in my heart.

I’m very sensitive to meaningful dialogue, soundtracks, emotional coherence, and strong acting.
The dramas that change my life are the ones that touch my soul, resonate with my experience, or make me see the world differently.

My watching list

I carefully update all the dramas I’m currently watching, have completed, dropped (sometimes with regret), or want to see soon.
Feel free to browse through my lists, and please don’t hesitate to recommend hidden gems I may have missed—I’m always open to new discoveries.

My connection to the drama community

I love talking with fellow drama lovers.
Whether it’s sharing opinions, venting frustrations, celebrating crushes, or laughing over plot twists—this passion becomes even more beautiful when shared.
If you see yourself in my tastes, or just want to chat about dramas over a virtual cup of tea, don’t be shy—message me.
I’m always happy to connect with others who love this world as much as I do.

Thank you so much for reading this all the way to the end.
Whether you're a seasoned drama fan or a curious newcomer looking for your next obsession—welcome to a world where every episode brings a new emotion.
Let’s meet in the comments or through our drama lists.

With all my love for dramas,
Akiko Meguro
