I love any kind of fruity candy and Kasugai Hard Candy Melon is pretty much my favorite international candy. otherwise it's fruity mentos and gummy worms. I really want to try that watermelon candy in the picture. My mouth is actually watering. XD

Ha, I have now been stuck on youtube for almost four hours, because while I can pick one song from a drama, even if that's difficult enough, I still have to listen to the rest of the ost. XD Good god, it's never going to end! Also, I've been looking through the entries, and it's really interesting how different people pick a different favorite from the same drama, or just how varied some people's tastes are. I'm a little disapointed more of my songs weren't picked also because I want more chances of them being in the poll, but that's normal I think. XD If anything, this is fun because you get to see so many different prefrences!
I really really want her to do a drama, but that's mostly because I want to see more of her acting and just her on my screen. I have such a girl crush on her and I've been waiting for another drama since Dong Yi. XD
awesome article and very helpful too! I think the only thing I would add is do something completely non-drama related like reading a book or watching a TV show that's on cable. That's what I have to do when a drama completely rocks my heart and soul and changes how I view the world. There are two dramas that I watched that I just couldn't move passed even after I rewatched them repeatedly as soon as I finished them. Gaksital and Bu Bu jing Xin just enraptured me so much that I couldn't move on, and then when I eventually decided I had to try something new, I ended up doing what you said and dropped a bunch of perfectly good dramas just because they weren't the same level of earth shatteringly good. I found out, like you said, trying a drama from a completely different genre or country helped A LOT and I was able to move passed the slump. I still watch them a few times a year though, but I am a rewatcher by nature. XD
Great article with very realistic and helpful suggestions! I wish I had this advice a year ago instead of stumbling along and having to figure it out the hard way. haha <3
You are so right about his voice! It's smooth like cream, but so manly and decadent. *girly sigh* I'll have to watch Can You Hear My Heart again soon for that and his smile. :P
I also did the same exact thing as you did with My Love Patzzi! I stumbled across it on youtube or something before I even knew MDL existed and liked the drama but I didn't become fascinated with him until Can You Hear My Heart and then there was that same moment of wait...That's him!?!? hahaha I haven't seen nearly as many of his dramas as you yet, but I think I'll watch Wonderful Life soon because of your article. ^.^ Again, awesome job!
*runs in circles* GAH! I cracked to early and now I have to wait another month for the rest of the episodes! Things are starting to get crazy! >.< I'm freakin in love with this drams!
I am loving all the I Hear Your Voice cameos a lot, and they always make me smile or laugh because I did really enjoy I Hear Your Voice. However, I do kinda think they're trying to ride on the coattails of IHYV's fame a little. I know it's the same writer and PD, but sometimes all the overlaps are a bit much. It just kind of jerks me out of the Pinocchio world and puts me into the IHYV world, which is disorientating sometimes. Eh, idk, not a big deal, and it won't make me not like the drama, either of them, but I think it would have been better to put those overlaps in a drama that was being filmed a few more years after IHYV was filmed.
Ha funny how You Who came from the Stars is in the lead in most polls, but also in the lead for Most overrated…
Thank you for pointing that out! haha I had a good laugh when I noticed that too. It doesn't really make any sense. I think people are just clicking on it whenever the see the name.
Thank you for your hard work setting up these polls! :D
Now...I just don't know why I keep taking part in them when seeing what drama is coming out in the lead pisses me off. XD Logically, I know not everyone feels the same way I do about the dramas I loved or enjoyed the most, but seeing one drama (You Who came From The Stars) take the lead over and over almost makes me want to punch someone. haha I liked it, don't get me wrong, it was a good drama, but I feel like a lot of people didn't give other dramas a chance, or maybe they didn't even watch a mojority of the dramas in that category and only picked the one that's all hyped up and that they've watched? Right now Kim Soo Hyung is like the next best thing to sliced bread, but he's not the best actor even if he is a good actor and beautiful. Well...at least it wasn't like the voting when Heirs was on the list. That time I saw red. :P
Anyone else get illogically upset when they're favorite dramas aren't doing better in polls??
This article was really well done and definitely made me more curious about his movies! I stumbled upon All About My Romance a year ago much like you did, and at first was hesitant about an older male lead as I'd only watched dramas with younger actors at that time. Still, I gave it a go because I was looking for something different and I happen to enjoy politics. Within five minutes I was impressed with how talented an actor he was, and then he smiled...and that was it. Girly mush of goo. His ability to express so much emotion with just his eyes, or to convey such complicated feelings with every inch of his body is something you don't see very often. It's a mark of an AMAZING actor, not just a good one. So, I fell in love and have been meaning to start some of his movies, but I wanted to see him in another romance, and not many of his movies even have that element, so I put them on my list. Now I think I'll have to move them up and start watching a few.
Thank you for the awesome article and I hope to see more from you! :D
Eh...Idk if I'd say ALL girls only look at a good looking face on an actor and automatically claim he's an amazing actor despite sucking at acting. Lee Jong Suk just happens to be gorgeous and have acting talent. However, I do think he's a little over rated because he's not the best actor in the world and does still need a little work here and there. That doesn't mean he's not a great actor already and doesn't mean I don't swoon when he's on screen. Of course I think he's gorgeous too and yes, I do think he's a good actor. Again, he's not the best and I don't choose to watch his dramas and rate them high because he's good looking. There have been numerous times I've watched a drama with a drool-worthy male lead and rated it below a 6. Some of those would include Lee Min Ho dramas. *hides from scary fans.* I do understand some of what that "haters" are saying when it comes to claiming a drama brilliant just because of biases or good looking leads, because hello...Heirs. Explain that to me and make me believe the plotline was well written, and I'll take that back.
I also know Rascal likes to cause trouble, like his name, and never take anything that's written by you too seriously. XD I do think generalizing a gender anytime is a ridiculous and ignorant thing to do, because I've seen many a man watch and rewatch a movie/drama because the female lead is "hot" and rate it higher. Or because they might get to see boobs, but that's more in Western media. :P That doesn't mean ALL individuals of the male persuasion will rate those movies/dramas higher because of it.
*shrugs* It's the way of the world. We all like what we like, and if occasionally we want to rate a drama higher than normal because the male lead is a sexy beast, oh well, but I don't think every girl does so, and I don't think it's something to really get all that angry about.
Min Jung's real mother in Jang Bo Ri is Here is by far the worst mother I have ever seen in a drama, and I've seen a LOT of horrible drama mamas. I hated her to the very core of my being and honestly found her to be a disgusting disgrace to all humans. Even if Jang Bo Ri is full of evil characters to choose from, she is by far the worst. I do agree with some of the others you put on the list except the mom in Marriage Not Dating, because I have to agree with yellowposh, she was a really well written character and was acted out exceedingly well. She doesn't get a gold star by any means, but she was relatable and like you said, redeemed herself.
For 2014 and in the Kdrama category, I would also add the mom in Glorious Day, and the parents in Hotel King like Rika217 said.
I agree with you for all the dramas I've seen on this list. Logically, my ratings would be a lot lower for a lot of dramas if I rated objectively, but I rate based off of emotion. If I really enjoy a drama and it makes me experience a wide range of emotions and enraptures my imagination and heart, it's a solid 10 for me. Even while knowing it's cliche, impossible, or just downright stupid, I will rate it high if it touched me. On the other hand, I will do the opposite if a drama doesn't grab ahold of my heart. Even if the drama is amazing objectively and everyone raves about it, if I can't feel anything while watching it, it will get a rather low score.
I think dramas are there for us to enjoy ourselves, so if I'm rating it, it's going to be based on how much I enjoyed it. However, it's always nice to forewarn people you recommend dramas to what your rating system is based on.
Anyways, this is a fun article, and I like the fact that it's witty and points out the faults in each drama without harshly claiming the drama is no good. Your viewpoints are presented in a way that it encourages conversation instead of arguing. ^.^
Oh, and mind would be Smiling Pasta, Secret Garden, Just You, and I'm sure there are a ton more. I recently went through my list and adjusted my ratings, but it's hard to be objective. XD
I'm starting this today, right after watching this. XD I read the manga, and honestly, I didn't absolutely adore it like others seem to. That's also why I haven't watched the Japanese version of this, but I have to watch this version because of Joo Won. He's my favorite actor and he's just amazing, so it can't be missed. Thank you for the article! It pushed me into watching it now instead of waiting for all the episodes to be aired.
