I'm not too picky when it comes to action movies as long as they deliver the action scenes well. This one did, plus it has Jung Hae In as a badass character. Really wish he took on more cool guy/action roles like this one.
GGS's douban rating is only smidge higher than Long Ballad, so it's really not that much difference. GGS is also…
You've mentioned some valid points. I think with the recent rise of cancel culture it'll be wiser to just create a fictional dynasty/historical characters in the Asian drama world. Interesting and sad to see that it's more of a problem in Asia, I don't remember seeing such strong backlash in the Western world. I could be wrong.
I wasn't taking Douban's score, more a collective general consensus from various sites. When I first saw the posters for TLB I didn't know there was an age difference, and simply put the show on my radar cuz I liked the visuals. I notice the faults of this show as well as the good, and made the decision according to my preferences. This is the part that I have an issue with in general, taking other people's word without making a judgement on your own. Nowadays reviews and ratings can be so biased or rigged, truly annoying.
If someone enjoys GGS, that's none of my business, to each their own! I just think that people should try to be a bit more objective with their reviews. Even though I love this drama I do not think it's for everyone, nor do I say it's perfect or not have criticisms.
Dilraba and Leo are both down-to-earth and have amazing chemistry!!! My friends didn’t know they are not the…
Loll Ikr! If I didn't know their ages I would've thought they had a max of 5 year age difference according to looks. But if you take their off-screen personalities and interactions the age gap reduces even more! I find their dynamic flows well together. I ship their characters and irl SO MUCH, did not expect that to happen. But if not romantic, I hope they stay really good friends.
Wow, I'm actually enjoying a Cdrama after a long while! It's fast-paced, many of the characters are clever (not all of them cuz that'd be unrealistic) and, despite the age difference, I have utterly fallen for the main couple! Their personalities match really well, truly a power couple! This is also my first time watching a Leo Wu drama and I'm loving it so far.
I don't usually like politics and warfare but they've mixed in a balanced amount of humor, romance, friendship, action, conspiracies, and life reflections to keep me interested. Yes, it has it's flaws but I find it better overall than many of the Cdramas that have come out recently. It's not shockingly impressive like 'Joy of Life' but also far from the scathing reviews a lot of Chinese are saying. Idk how Go Go Squid(which I found the main FL's childishness and stalking behaviour quite grating to watch and the plot quite simple. I did like the ML's acting though) didn't get much negative reviews and yet this drama does when it's got much more layers to it. So take reviews with a grain of salt and just check it out for yourself ?
Dilraba and Leo also seem quite comfortable with each other behind the scenes and get along well. I noticed many of her fans mentioning how relaxed and happy she's looking, while promoting the drama, for the first time in a long while.
I'm looking forward to the next episodes, fingers-crossed it maintains the quality until the end!
I love the drama. It became of the highlights of my week. I love the FL's strength and intelligence, very rarely…
Agreed. But I'm interested in the 2nd couple after that first scene they had together. That relationship has yet to be developed on though (up till ep.18)
Loved this show! First time watching either of the main actors' dramas. The acting for both the MCs were well done, Chen Xiao was especially impressive! The character suited him so well, and the FL, too! Loved the slow burn romance and banter between the them. Only main criticism I'd give is that this show should've been reduced by 5 episodes, those last few felt like things were being repeated and dragged out when it could've ended sooner. Nonetheless, still couldn't get enough of the main characters!
