Well, some things mentioned in the novel during the immortal world were actually pretty well explained in the Fleeting dream of Ming Ye. So we wont have to rack out brains when we get to 500 years later 🤣🤣🤡🤡

Love thread is the ability to feel emotions and love itself. Everyone is born with one, even humans. TTJ tho is born without one.
In the novel, YBC fell into a valley while being chased by snakes and was saved by Chu Huang who sent her out on her flute. When she is out of the valley, she meets someone that asks her to bring the heart scale and the love thread back to the valley, she agrees. While travelling back, she becomes curious and opens the small bag and takes a glimpse of her future. She then stops and says that the lady in the valley is probably dead and these items will be more usefull in her hands. The heart scale and love thread are Di Mians (Chu Huang's lover and a dragon demon)

No worries, but really the mortal arc is the angstiest. Immortal one apart from the tombstone is a little more kind to the reader, as it isn't every second that you are tortured by what is happening.

1. Ye xi wu dies on that tower, by the thunder and the overusing of the alluring jade (her meridians are broken by the blacklash, she literally feels excruciating pain, she falls from the tower and dies on the ground)
2. TTJ spent 500 years lookong for YXWs soul, he went to the Nethe river(?) to look for her soul, having his body torn by demons. He was found by the master of Xiaoyao Sect and taught to cultivate immortal arts. That is 2 years before he meets LSS.
3. TTJ comes to know she is YXW in two stages:1st one is when her veil (half face that shows only her eyes, and she addictionally had used a spell to change how she really looks) falls and he sees the goddess statue from his childhood. He then doubts how can the statue and her look the same. First doubts are slowly awaken. 2nd one is while they are on the cliff in a secret magic space. He wants to kill her and take her fairy body as a vessel for YXWs soul, but while LSS is about to fall down the cliff in that space, a fragment of the mirror of the past was present, and he saw a glimps of her as YXW. He connects 2 and 2.
4. Not quickly. Down the cliff, before they go in the magic space left by her father, he finally understands that it is love he felt not hate and the 500 years he spent looking for her were cuz he loves her, not cuz he hates her and wants to kill her himself. Also LSS is quite reluctant. The torture in the cold palace while she is almost completely blind after the nails but before the tower left her with a fear of the darkness she still feels 500 years after. So it is reversed - he tries his best to right the past and show her he loves her, whereas because of cultivating Ruthless Dao, she is cold towards him afraid to trust him ever agan.
5. Li Susu was actually born at the very moment Chu Huan was stabbed by the Devil God 10 000 years ago during Ming Ye arc. She stayed in the egg due to YBC not bringing the heart scale and love thread to Chu Huans valley. When she goes back to 500 years after the mortal realm, her cultivation is one whole stage lower, so she is weaker than when she departed to the past. Her main power is the fire of karma that is said to burn more fiercely than normal fire, her body can also absorb the divine essence in the air regardless of its element.

I guessed it as soon as i saw the Tower scene trailer. Cuz ive seen that actor in the blue whisper and i know he is good, so asking him for a guest role in this kind of setting is unlikely.

So in the novel, when MingLang was 17 he killed absolutely everyone on his way to the throne, but MingHan slipped without MingLang noticing. It is not explained how he escaped, but he has been on hiding.
As for MingHan, he is not the final "boss" as you say, he gives unconciously YXW the perfect situation to carry out her plan and exchange the devil bones. He is at the place with the most YIN energy (the tower) and that day is precisely the Yin day Yin month (time when the Yin energy is at its peak) that YXW needs.
