If words could resolve everything. That is really a naive way of thinking cuz not everything can be fixed with words. In her case, betraying her trust and doing what he did as becoming the DG cannot be fixed with merely one 'i believe you, i love you, i trust you', it is simply impossible cuz his actions outweigth his words. Sometimes actions speak louder than words, and this is precisely the case with TTJ - he broke his promise, became the devil god and literally almost choked her to death. If you were in her place, not knowing what we as an audience know, i dont think you'd be on the same "why dont you say you trust him" train. You would be enraged and feeling helpless and betrayed. Same goes for TTJ 500 years ago. It will only be a temporary remedy as the root problem of killing DG is still present and not resolved!!!
