Right now, TTJ loves her and hates her at the same time. In the novel he didnt figure out he loved her all the time till he saw she was YXW 500 years ago. So it is his dilemma, he doesnt know that love and hate are one step apart, but if you love the person no matter how much you "hate" them you still essentially love em.
