They are not in a relationship. No one is promoting a toxic relationship here. ML and FL are strangers. Had she not intervened he would have left her completely alone in the beginning. She is no weak damsel in distress. Also they are not tormentor and victim. She is more the victim of the SML who keeps throwing her in the middle hoping to catch the assassin without caring if she gets hurt.

The actress is amazing in this role! But it must also be tough to play the mother of an actor who is just 7 years younger.

I think she does not fall in love with Pei Yan at all. She has soft feelings for him and is thankful, but there is no passion and no love imo
