★ 10/10 – We Are All Trying Here

One of the things I appreciated the most about this drama is how almost every character grows naturally from the very first episode to the last. Their development never feels forced; every change is believable and perfectly fits the story.

After finishing each episode, I kept thinking, “There’s no way the next one can be even better.” Yet somehow it always was. Every episode surprised me in the best possible way.

From the characters to the dialogue, the cinematography, and the atmosphere, everything felt carefully crafted. Nothing seemed out of place.

My biggest concern while watching was that, as the story approached its ending, it might lose the depth that made it so special. Since this drama deals with heavy and important themes, I was afraid it would eventually simplify them or rush through them.

Thankfully, it never does.

This is not a drama for everyone. It’s emotionally heavy, intense, and sometimes difficult to watch. Calling it a “light” drama would be completely misleading.

From the very first episode, it makes its intentions clear. At some point, I stopped feeling like I was watching just another drama. It felt painfully real.

I think that’s because it handles its themes with honesty and respect. It never romanticizes pain, never diminishes it, and never treats serious issues as simple plot devices. Instead, it allows every character’s struggles to matter.

The original Korean title, “모두가 자신의 무가치함과 싸우고 있다” (“Everyone Is Fighting Against Their Own Worthlessness”), captures the heart of the story far better than the international title. It reminds us that everyone is fighting a battle we often cannot see.

I genuinely hope We Are All Trying Here reaches as many people as possible, especially those who need its message the most.

For me, this is an easy 10/10.

So much potential so much disappointment

I had high expectations for this drama. The story started off interesting, and I genuinely liked its premise. It also touches on realistic situations and makes you reflect on certain aspects of life, which I appreciated.

Unfortunately, as the episodes went on, the story became increasingly boring, forced, and sometimes difficult to follow. The flashbacks and subplots could have added more depth, but instead, some of them felt unnecessary and poorly developed.

I understand what the drama was trying to convey, and I actually liked the story itself, but the execution could have been much better. The characters’ choices were sometimes understandable, sometimes not, and I struggled to find convincing chemistry between them.

The dialogues had some good moments, but the overall narrative felt messy, and I honestly think the drama had too many episodes.

The final episode was probably the only part I truly enjoyed. It’s a shame, because the story had potential, but it never quite managed to make the most of it.

Good But It Could Have Been Better

An interesting story that plays with the line between fiction and reality, which is definitely one of its strongest points.

Both actors delivered exceptional performances, and the chemistry between Zhen Xin and Zhang Zhun was undeniable. However, I wish we had seen more of their relationship developing outside intimate moments. There was potential to explore their connection on a deeper level.

As for Fang Chi and Gao Zhun, I initially enjoyed their storyline, but as the episodes went on, it started to feel repetitive and unnecessarily long. At times, I even found myself skipping parts just to get back to the story I was more interested in.

The ending was satisfying, and I appreciated the happy conclusion. Still, I think the drama could have benefited from a tighter edit and better use of its screen time.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but the execution could have been more balanced.

7.5

Good But I Wanted More

I really liked Park Eun Bin’s character. I think she carried a large part of the story and managed to keep it going until the very end. I also enjoyed the male lead: there are moments when he makes you laugh a lot and others when he genuinely makes you emotional.

The two leads have good chemistry, although I think I was expecting a little more from their relationship.

I have to admit that the beginning bored me a little, but fortunately, the drama picked up with the following episodes and became much more enjoyable.

One thing that disappointed me a bit was that, at some point, the drama seemed to give more and more attention to the romance while forgetting about the ghosts. The supernatural aspect was one of the most interesting and central parts of the story, so I wish it had been explored more consistently.

And I have to mention the scene where he wakes up and immediately starts walking after being hit by a car… that was a little ridiculous. 😂
I know it’s a K-drama, but you still need to make the story you’re telling feel believable enough for the viewer to stay immersed.

Honorable mention to the OST, because I absolutely loved it. It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the drama.

As for the ending, I didn’t find it rushed or too fast. I actually liked it and thought it wrapped things up well.

Overall, it was a good and enjoyable drama. I just wish some aspects had been explored a little more and executed better.

My final rating: 8/10.
