I miss DOTS so much that I felt the urge to rewatch it. I credit ths drama for rekindling my love for Korean drama…
I have epic respect for military and their procedures and culture. They managed to portray that extremely well here! Just as you said: being a military drama it did not have the darkness. We saw the military in its peacekeeping role and working for peace with the volunteer doctors and the citizens! The Tuscon in military guise also looked so official with its light camouflage pattern and rounded antenna!
OMG, why didn't i watch this before..just ended it..so full of emotions and heartfelt...can't stop thinking about…
All the female characters are so strong. Not typical damsels in distress but still have their human frailties. The acting is top notch, the story so real! The baddie is just that: a baddie. Feels like an action movie villain rather than a drama one, but still one you can relate to in his motivations! The mushy stuff is very present, but does not distract nor take away from the action. Strangely it actually adds to it and provides a motivation and impetus. All in all well scripted with rounded characters; well acted; location amazingly scouted; and wonderfully directed!
Dots was second Korean drama. When I saw the first Korean drama healer. I use to visit soompi forum often to read…
DOTS didn't fit the lovey lovey soap opreary drama mould. It was something different! The lead female character was amazingly strong, but still had human vulnerabilities. She was no damsel in distress, but still, at times, needed rescuing. It had action, military and doctors with the love being a sideline, but not quite in the background, but an integral part of the story. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
All the usual drama tropes, but boy was it executed well! Love at first site, army brat falls for army dude, army brat's dad is general, troops stationed away, doctors! disaster! gangs! Wow!
