Good interesting 1st episode. Introduces characters and motivations well. However, these are supposed to be high schoolers? GMMTV stretched putting their stars like Earth in black shorts, but Viu takes the entire bakery section of Cafe for All 🤣
Everybody was at their best in this series. Well done GMMTV! I'm so happy Koy lived to the end of a series! Louis had a real positive role here. Could we see more MilkLouis? :D
My love and fangirling for Namtan grows with every drama I see her in. And yes, I totally buy Jimmy as a bespectacled,…
Namtan has not had a bad role to date! I still maintain that she held The Player together with her skill. She played the baddie as good as she plays any other role!
I must hand it to the screen writers, they have written Boo amazingly! He's mature in some ways and still a child in some. They have struck a perfect mix to make this an interesting and well-rounded character. Potae and Payos are just epic. Payos' unrequited love is just, again, perfect. Potae not knowing how to react to the confession is pure gold. Each episode has at least one subversion of expectations, and it adds just the right amount of suspense and drama without being overdone or unwelcomed. This is a true coming of age done magnificently! O, and at least Koy's character (Kai [Kang's mother]) is still alive at ep.9!
Does Namtan get more beautiful every episode? Or is it as the days get longer in Thailand, she looks more beautiful? She was exquisite in ep. 14! I don't think there's a more beautiful couple in South East Asia than her and Earth. Looks, chemistry, acting, they got it all!
I'm loving this BL, but I still can't shake the feeling that poor Kai (Kang's Mother) is in for more sorrow. She's the GMM female Sean Bean. Hope this one ends with her alive and happy :D
This is really cute and fluffy. Moo is the cutest and I love how he always communicates his thoughts and feelings…
That's Moo's most amazing character trait: he doesn't beat around the bush and wants all communications up-front. A good lesson for us fans when it comes to relationships.
To those questioning the Shone character, remember this still is a drama. We have to inject some story somewhere. When done right, subversion of expectations can be a good thing in a story and we have a prime good example here. If the audience was expecting a love triangle, the fact that Shone took a step back is quite a good thing. This is one of the few dramas where the coming of age is done well, needing no more drama than that already presented. This show is also full of subversions. In the beginning we thought that Moo was really going to be lynched. Kang thought so too, only to have the mob having other motives. For the Tae Payos questioners I say at this point it is a one-sided love. Aun is playing it quite well. We see the unrequited love from Payos, but, apart from the awkward moments, we don't see it being returned. I think their friendship is very believable and feels organic. IMHO this is one of the few BLs where both couples are equally interesting.
Lin Zu Yuan seems to not age! The only thing I'm left wanting from this almost perfect story is a little more background on Wei Zhi Yuan. Where did he come from? What caused him to become a street child? Aside from that, the character development and pace of the story was perfect. There was actual growth and change. There was development among all the characters in every episode. Looking forward to more of Priest's works being actualized in dramas!
Epic concept. Wasted Xion. You have a good set-up with Miss Becky narrating. While not my favourite character, she can be a good narrator. The 1st story was a nice one, but, as always, your writing and execution are not there. We never really saw the development of the relationship properly. Even in that short time proper dialogue and actions could have given us just that: development! A proper script! Most of the time it is obvious the actors are adlibbing. Is it that hard to write a script? For reference any of the Thai Club Friday episodes could give you how to adapt true stories and develop them via character exploration. If nothing, this first episode proved two things: 1. Hiro is a great actor, even in the adlibbing department 2. Xion needs to spend his money on writers and a good director.
I think GMM added a new trope. Instead of the slip, fall, kiss, they gave us eating nuts, one falls on the ear, nibbling of ear :D Well done GMM! Poor Koy. Why is she the wipping mom of GMM? Anytime we need something bad to happen to an older female character, we cast Koy. Well at least her sorry, so far, was her husband died before the series. Hope she lasts throughout all the episodes!
How namtan became so beautiful? I know she was beautiful always but damn she was out of the world in this episode
She's so perfect! She has amazing chemistry with whoever she's on screen with! Never expected to see her play against Earth, but they make a great pair.
I shed a few tears because this show has ended, it has given me mid-week joy with its silliness and quirkiness…
Yes! Seeing Yoh as an old man was sweet, beginning to end, but a montage of their adventures would have been really nice. To actually see Yoh grow old with Pun.
I can't see why this one is so low! It wasn't perfect by any means, but had a nice, character driven story. For 2024 so far I'd say it's in the top 20, maybe even 15, so far. A nice, humanistic approach to the classic vampire story. It's way better than the British modern adaptation of Dracula. If I'd change anything it would be to start as a historic and interlace the present into it. It didn't need to be full out, but just some basic scenes. We still needed to see what the marriage promise between Pun and Janja to understand that past. We needed to see where Pun decided that pork blood soup was better than human blood. I'm also a sucker for stories with reincarnation. Bringing that feature in from early would have added another dimension to the story. We could have also been able to explore the classic Western vampire concept in a Buddhist/ Thai/ tropical way.
I love seeing my favorite GMM female stars in the main roles. Namtan is so terrifically talented and her skills are wasted as the female in BL's. She was so utterly amazing in The Player as the main baddie. Here, again, she has amazing chemistry with her co-stars. The characters are all fun in their own way. I'm very happy to see a project of this nature, where these actors get to play different roles.
However, these are supposed to be high schoolers? GMMTV stretched putting their stars like Earth in black shorts, but Viu takes the entire bakery section of Cafe for All 🤣
