I have to say, I’m a little surprised to see such a high score here for this. I enjoyed the beginning. I think it was a little over the top at some points and the older female characters were a little too vilified for my taste, but I do love some good angst so I really did begin to enjoy this drama. However, the second half went down hill for me, mostly because of the relationship between Jian Jian and Ling Xiao. I did not believe it for a second and it was almost uncomfortable to watch. The second half lost a lot of the wonderful family content of the first and turned into an uncomfortable and uninteresting love story. I did think Zhang Xincheng’s acting was fantastic throughout. I had no idea he was such a good actor. He definitely stood out and was the only reason I continued to watch the drama towards the end. But as far as best Cdrama of the year? Far from it.

Is anyone else curious why Jun won didn’t complete military service? I don’t know why that stuck with me but I feel like any passing comment in this drama is relevant somehow, nothing is a throwaway. Maybe that’ll come up in season 2 unless I missed it already, idk I just kept coming back to that when I was watching the drama thinking they’d explain it

I agree that the first two episodes felt a little rushed and confusing. I think you can tell that they cut things out and re-edited them. But, it does keep getting better and better! I'm quite satisfied and will happily continue watching! Beyond the first two episodes, the production is good, the acting is good, and the pacing is good! Definitely worth a watch!

Yea, I think they're planning on broadcasting "over the sea I come to you," which was supposed to air in may but was postponed possibly because of the trade war between US and China, but I'm not sure. I think I saw that they were gonna broadcast that this thursday at 10 pm, so it looks like that will take the broadcasting spot instead of "my robot boyfriend" and NEF

Well I saw on Weibo that there was an ad for “my robot boyfriend” on Zhejiang tv with an air date of June 11 at 10pm. It looks like Novoland Eagle flag won’t be airing this week or any time soon

After doing some more sleuthing it seems like Zhejiang tv has basically “open space” listed for the 10pm time slot. I pretty much think the situation is as before. If the situation can be resolved by the 11th then it can air, but if not then it will be “my robot boyfriend” most likely. At least that’s my understanding right now

I think what's so crazy about it is that to even get this close to being broadcasted it needed to pass censorship at least once right? It had to have already gotten approved. It's so crazy that they must have found a problem/a problem must have been reported at the last minute. It is truly such a shame. I've been so starved of good chinese dramas this year, and I was really looking forward to this one. I guess we'll see what happens on June 11.

Also I saw on Weibo that the drama "My robot boyfriend" might be taking the June 11 spot in place of Novoland Eagle Flag anyway. I'm not sure if it's true, but let's just say I don't have high hopes for this situation

Hopefully it is it because of the tiananmen anniversary then they can reschedule it soon. That’s the annoying thing about the Chinese drama industry tbh, drama’s can just disappear without a trace. But this seems to be highly anticipated with a lot of big name actors and a huge fan base from the original novels (me included) so here’s to hoping it airs soon lol

I'v read some interesting forums on what 介质原因 could mean lol. Some people have been saying pulling it like this could be just a tactic to hype up the drama even more, but i'm not sure I believe that. In any case, if discussion was what they were after, they certainly got it! hmmm 介质原因... what a lovely way to say "we can't tell you and you'll never know"
