Yes this is a contradictory statement: I REALLY enjoyed this show, it was one of my favorites of the month, but it was a crap show and the last 2 episodes (ESPECIALLY the last episode) made me want to throw my phone and punch the writer.

Truly makes me wonder if after hearing The Demon Hunter Romance ran THEIR ending through an AI program if they didn't do the same here since those last episodes made so little sense compared to the rest. I HONESTLY thought we'd be getting a Broken the Heart ending.

I suppose the scene with him "dying" COULD have just as well been the shows ending and then the parts after it were all tacked on to make the OTHER side happy because it was after the arrow death that everything just plain stopped making sense.

I feel like this was THE definition of a choose your own adventure ending. They said "words"... they "hugged"... those words could mean SOOOOO many things but ultimately meant nothing because they just hugged and END.

Here, I'll turn that "happy ending" into a "sad ending" with just what we saw... she says the lines about starting over and always being entangled in love and hate... basically her saying that she's always going to hate him when he's around (the countryside) but the minute he goes back to work (the manor) she'll pine after him and lose all autonomy begging him to come home soon. But they will "start over" because she's realized that the most she can ask for is being in the country so might as well deal with him for the rest of her life... 🤣

The funniest part was that bird at the end "being set free" but she's ABSOLUTELY not set free, she just chose to move to a different cage and the door is left open for an hour a day even if the room is still locked.

Your "last several episodes" would have indeed been VASTLY superior whether they still wanted to go the "HEA" route OR have it as a "nothing he does can make up for it" route 😅

So on one hand it's a happy ending because they are together again but also she is saying that they will "start over" because there is so much love and hate between them that.... what? They are perfect for each other? 😅 I mean she's essentially saying "I still hate you but you let me leave the mansion so I can overlook the years of abuse and we will move our love/hate relationship to a new location... okay?
And that IS what's happening right? I honestly got confused about if he ACTUALLY agreed to stop being a court official and live in the small town with her or maybe they are just going to do some sort of she lives there and he visits? 😅🤷‍♀️ I mean they didn't explain ANYTHING in that HEA and just went "idk figure it out yourself"... similar to that last minute PLAUGE diagnosis that lasted less than 1 minute 😅

😅 This was such a weird ending when you think about it honestly...

They did it again 😅 He gets hurt then "one month later".... So was he supposedly unconscious for an ENTIRE month??? 😅

I'm sorry but watching people who don't usually watch Tencent mini-dramas losing it over only getting 1 episode a day is peak comedy to me 😅
