This was so weirdly "bad" but strangely so funny and entertaining for most of the story that it was easy to overlook the weird pacing, storyline, and cgi. First time watching a white snake mythos show so had zero knowledge or expectations.
I mean "technically" it could just be how you metabolize caffeine but yeah 🙃 that's usually a "classic" symptom since things that are "supposed" to stimulate have the opposite effect. Which is often why people newly diagnosed who go on stimulant meds end up passing out getting some of the best sleep they've ever had instead of the "study all night long and into next day" energy people without it try and take them for.
Idk how they do it in each region but when I'm on standard and an express pass comes out for a drama I want it asks me to upgrade to premium vip then they tack on the rest of my standard days at the end if I cancel it or go back down.
For IQIYI if they do express pass they don't "usually" sell it individually episode by episode, they just unlock the episodes for the premium vip members so you just have to update your teir. If you're on the monthly plan on first tier VIP they "pause" that subscription, activate the new one and then tack on the rest of your VIP 1 after you go back down a tier or fully unsubscibe so that you still get what you originally paid for.

So it not necessarily that I "forgive" him for threatening to kill her if she messes up his plans again (it's obvious to "us" he doesn't mean it but SHE is terrified when he says it), for me it's that I already know that as soon as he finds out that she REALLY has a fear of dying because of him, he makes her stab him to make up for it.
He's warned her multiple times about the dangers of his plots and he was terrified himself of her getting hurt. That's not the mindset of someone who would "actually" ever harm her, he's just still stuck in his earlier comment thought of "fear makes her behave" and he NEEDS her to behave and not accidentally get killed because she didn't come to him first.
Even still I have started to wonder if she actually thinks he means what he says or if she does indeed trust him enough now to see through the lie but just hasn't reconciled and worked through last life's emotions yet?

It was honestly crazy the amount of restraint he had dealing with feeling awful physically AND mentally while having to do his normal daily scheming, watch his father care for his half brother like a newborn baby, and watch his Ning'er walk around making love eyes in the falling snow (a thing he literally can not do with her right now even if she would accept it).
The sheer fact he only "snapped" once is amazing but also shows just how must he can let down his guard around her.
In general because of the incident 20 years ago he can't stand the cold as easily as others but also there's the fact that when it snows he goes out of his mind so he's been taking these pills to clear his head but they destroy his body.
