Yeah that's why I liked goodbye my princess cause it was realistic! I didn''t really think of it as a sad ending it was more of a satisfactory ending; Xiaofeng saves her country and doesn't need to live with sorrow or guilt and Chengyin gets his punishment to always remember and live with the guilt and sorrow. :(

I've only watched one other tragic ending C-Drama, but I think I could watch more if it made sense like this one; at the same time I don't want to put myself through the same thing that I put myself through in goodbye my princess! lol

yeah, when I first started watching the drama I thought she was going to save him but she never did hence I thought that it has to do with him and his revenge. So sad, good thing they had a happy ending in their third life.
