thank you! i still can’t move on and still watching videos and clips lol good thing ep7 of documentary comes…
same ahah! I thought ep 6 of documentary was the last one, so great news! XD what do you think will happen in the second part? Do you have any assumption?
Wow, thank you so much for this detailed review, I agree with you for everything you said! I was really impressed and touched by the cinematography and edition of this drama too, so I was really happy to read your detailed view about this too :) I like this drama so so much ;) The hamac scene is my favourite along with the beach scene (when they're wearing red outfits, they move as if they were dancing and it's beautiful) and the bra scene (I've never seen this kind of scene in a drama before so it moved me a lot).
It's funny because like you I watched Reply 1988 and Prison Playbook this year too (and I absolutely loved I ahaha). HP was sooo good, can't wait for season 2! Watching all these dramas during quarantine was, like you so perfectly said it "Magical". :)
I loved the ending but I'm still a bit disappointed by the fact that the twins didn't learn the truth... I think it's maybe for the better (they could have feel betrayed, and also it respects the original movie) but still... I really wanted them to learn that their father was always there for them aha. But writers gave us a beautiful ending! I like the kiss scene with 37years old DY (I was afraid they'll just give us kissing scenes with Lee Do Hyun aha), and I like how this drama is realistic until the end (they still fight... but they learnt to COMMUNICATE and that's why their marriage can work). I'm still not a fan of the secondary couple though, I feel it's forced aha. But, I now that I'm gonna miss this drama a lot!
I really dislike how pushy Deok Jin is being with the teacher. She has told him many times to leave her alone…
I 100% agree with you. And I feel that the teacher liking anime/video games is just an excuse to say that this couple can exist. But I don't see any real love or chemistry between them (whereas I can see that Ae Rin and Deok Jin really share something, even if it's just friendship). Having one common interest is not enough to be a couple I think, they are just too different and in fact don't really know each others... This is the one thing I don't really like in this drama aha
He is 25, a grown adult, what's the issue with it? Now, in the drama he is 18 (body wise) but since she found…
I agree... for me we can't really talk about age gap in the drama, because the body is just the "envelop". Every kisses were nicely done: the first one she's drunk, the second was impulsive and ended with a slap, and the third real one, she knows it's her husband so.. yeah, no issues for me. BUT I just hope there will be a kiss between them when he have his old body back, to illustrate this idea of "whatever the body is we love each other anyway" (I don't want just kiss scene with Lee Do Hyun because it will be a kind of fanservice). As for the actors, I don't even bother to look the age gap or whatever. They are actors, it's their jobs and they are doing it very well!
The scene between Si ah and DY was very touching, now I want the twins to learn Woo Young identity so bad. I NEED them to learn it! They have to understand that their father love them (Si Ah understood it), that he dedicated his life for them and DJ. I don't necessarily want them to discover it while DY is still stuck in his younger body, they can discover it after. But I still want them to learn it anyway. And I feel that we don't get to see Si Ho often now and I'm a bit sad about this. Like, does he miss his father for instance?
Can someone explain to me the Alice thing? Why are so many people comparing Alice and 18 Agin when talking about age gap? ^^' And about the kiss, personally it doesn't really bother me because we know that the real DY is 38, plus the woman he kissed is not anybody, it's his wife. He controls himself since the beginning but seing his wife sad and calling him by his real name makes him lose his mind a little, I really see it like this. He kinda forgot he is in a younger body, what matter the most at the moment is comforting his wife. And I think it's okay if the actors didn't change, because they want to show that DJ is remembering her husband at the age of 18 (she's drunk). But I also agree with people who said they could have change, but the message is different ;)
I really cannot see Si -Ah falling for her dad....I know she doesn't know about it but we as an audience know…
Maybe she isn't falling for him, it's just that the ML reminds her her dad (it is her dad lol). Like she said, the first love of her mother is her dad, I think for Si-a it's the same, her first "love" (I don't mean romantic love of course) is her dad. And even if she don't tells that she misses her dad, I think she does miss him. It's my point on view (especially after watching the guitar scene). And I hope it will be like that, because like you I'll could not stand to see Si a falling for her dad aha.
So far, I’m enjoying this drama so much! I discovered Lee Do Hyun and I just love him ! I love how the main lead tries to fix his family by correcting first his own mistakes. Am I the only one who wants his children to discover his identity? I want them to understand their father and his struggles! Can’t wait for the next episodes !
I think it's more a way to show that woman and in particular married woman/mothers who wants to have a career…
I still think that in Korea (and more generally in Asia) there can be discriminations against some women with children. Or at least it's difficult for them to have a real career (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-southkorea-women-childcare-idUSKBN0L00B220150127 ; http://e-asianwomen.org/xml/14483/14483.pdf ; https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/2018/11/15/its-a-struggle-for-women-to-get-a-job-in-south-korea ). Gender inequality is still persistent in South Korea, ("a mom just have to rise her children at home") and I think the drama tries to show us these stereotypes. First, discrimination between men and women but also between young women and those withe children (even if both are graduated). As if the women had to choose between their career or their family. But I agree that it's maybe too much (for instance, I agree with what you said about the change of comments). And also, it gives the feeling that the all society hates married women/women with children. It's still an issue in my opinion, but how they dealt with it could have been done in a better way ^^
On episode 3 right now and I love it, except...Do drama writers have something against mothers? Starting with…
I think it's more a way to show that woman and in particular married woman/mothers who wants to have a career are still not well seen in Korean society. I don't think the drama writers have something against pregnant women or mother. On the contrary, it can be a way to underline these social issues.
Based on my own understanding, this series depicts how in real life, each person deals with trauma differently.…
I understand your point of view and I agree with you about the differences between traumas and how each person deals with it. But still, I think the trauma was to quickly forgotten... I hoped that, for instance, Tharn and Type would have one real conversation or few conversations about it. And I really felt like Tharn didn't care about Type's trauma, he never asks him if everything okay, etc (whereas we all know he loves him). And what you said about the special ep, I more see Type as a person who indeed have prejudice than a person who underwent a trauma... I don't know if I'm very clear but for me a trauma takes really a long time to be overcome and even if it can be quicker for some persons, it's sad the subject is not even mentioned during the second part (I'm taking about Type's trauma, not Tar's or Lhong's).
Thanks so much for this review! I was so disappointed by this drama (and the end) and I agree with you about everything you said. It's really sad to begin to like a drama and then it's just end on a disappointing note....
