I liked this one. It was so OTT trashy! I'm surprised the 2FL didn' t have a stroke with her constant rages. ML looks a little like Liu Xue Yi at times. He was in A Lucid Dream, which I loved. And the FL was in Romantic Sleeping Guide, one of the funniest silly dramas I've watched.
That's true. I'm just going by the timeline when his brother died, which was ten years ago. His younger self in the flashbacks seems to be around eight, which would make hi 18 now, but he doesn't look that. I wish they would be more explicit about how old he is.
now i kinda understand why the production went to such great lengths to create a fictional country with its own…
I don't understand about the censorship, though, since this is still a Chinese production. I don't see how it matters that it's in a made-up country with different language etc. It still comes out of China so wouldn't they censor it the same as dramas that take place in China?
If this is all they have to do to get things past censorship then surely they could start producing BL dramas that take place in this mythical country.
This drama so far is such a amazing drama. Super solid and worth it. The only thing that I dont really like and…
I love Oh No, Here Comes Trouble. It is so different from anything I've seen before. I want to watch it again because I know I missed a lot the first time around.
I know I'm missing at lot here, too. I just finished ep 10 and thank goodness they did a mini recap because I didn't really understand why the women were murdered. I had from the first time he was introduced that the retired captain was a bad guy. One of the few times I figure something out before it's shown!
I have been trying to figure out the ages of our MC and his brother. I thought I'd read that there were ten years difference between them, but that doesn't really make sense since the dead brother was a policeman so he had to be in his early twenties at the youngest and the student MC looked to be about eight when the brother died. I agree that the MC being a student doesn't add anything especially since he never seems to go to school anyway.
They were both wrong in different ways. Him not even knowing who he had married for 3 yrs was just plain ridiculous…
Totally agree. And for as smart as the ML supposedly was he sure wasn't smart in the one area that affected him the most. He had the marriage license in his hand, but then decides he doesn't want to see what she looks like? That made no sense at all.
I just wrote a comment below about all the killers in these types of Chinese dramas who get away with attempted murder time and time again with no reprecussions at all. The victims are as dumb as the killers, because they don't call the police and the killers are laughably incompetent. It's hilarious. Maybe these dramas should include the tag for comedy.
I love that the SML rival didn't fall for the sister's trick and when he realized the FL loved the ML he bowed…
I know, right? Someone tries to murder you/your baby and you say nothing. So the perpetrators do it again and still you say nothing? I know this is a drama, but seriously how dumb are these people?
And it's not just this drama, where the FL didn't want to out herself to the ML (though how he hadn't figured out she was his wife is beyond me). It happens in most Chinese dramas of this type. Never become a FL because killers roam free and at least one will be a member of your own family!
As bad as this was it surprised me in a good way at the end.
I love that the SML rival didn't fall for the sister's trick and when he realized the FL loved the ML he bowed out gracefully. And even the ML's mother admitted her mistake (though that was kind of hard to believe). I almost expected the sister and other evil female to be there, too, repenting of what they had done. That would have been really fun!
Joke's on me as I watched this entire drama and never connected that there were three actors who were also in Different Princess, one of my favorite dramas. The male lead here (Sun Zu Jun) played a character that I loathed in DP! Too funny.
I really liked this drama. I almost quit right at the beginning, but thanks to sulkytofu and Jina's reviews I persevered and it wasn't long before I started enjoying it. And I have a new favorite in Hou Dong. He was such a delight. I want to check out more of his acting.
Thank you for writing your review. I read it and Sulkytofu's and they are what made me keep watching when I wanted to quit early on. Glad I didn't because I really enjoyed this drama. So much fun.
Thanks so much for writing this review. I started the drama and was going to quit right at the beginning, but because of yours and Jina's reviews I kept going. Once the conflict showed up I was hooked and ended up really enjoying it. Plus I absolutely loved Hou Dong. His character was so much fun and I loved how his character grew.
The best thing I loved was how the evil characters actually got punished when their crimes were revealed instead of them getting off and allowed to continue to make mischief. So refreshing.
