Her character does develop though, initially she is meant to be this way but over the course of the drama she realizes her faults and slowly she learns. She of course should be more mature seeing that she is a mother but the plot point is that she is suppose to realize this and face the consequences of her actions and then learn from them. As she goes through the drama you will see her work hard to be better and she does so because of her son.
