Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (2020) - ARGH!!! So frustrating. The show was so much fun and loved it until the last 2 episodes. Most asinine time skip to 5 years later and then showed up out of the blue smiling and greeting the other person like it’s nothing. Happy ending, but it was like a new writer jumped in to finish the story without reading episodes 1-14 of the script!!!!
Dal Ja's Spring (2007) - incredibly stupid break-up and long time skip and nonchalant attitude after the time skip. Everyone ends up being together but the last few episodes ruined the enjoyment.
I have just started watching Mr Queen. First episode was epically funny.
There are moments that may appear like that, but it didn’t feel like a bromance to me because it happened sporadically when the Queen’s memories/soul were gradually finding its way back.
Kdrama in general provoke more emotions than American drama.Sometimes scenes are little bit exaggerated, but I…
After watching Kdramas, I find it hard to enjoy current American dramas, even the ones with multiple episodes and series. Personal relationships, friendships, romance, and family storylines just don't have the same kind of depth. It just feels so superficial and casual to me.
Thank you so much for writing this review. Although you gave it a 7, what you wrote was enough to make me interested because I love cutesy romance and you are right: they are just too darn cute and good looking to stop watching. The shortcomings are as you described, but enjoyable overall, nonetheless. Thank you.
Thank you kingsqueen. I never thought I would enjoy a show about prison life, but decided to give it a try after reading your review. Wow, what a series!!! Never say never applies here. It was so emotional, but in a good way. Without your review, I would have missed out on such a heartwarming series.
Hi Dania1506. I’m a little confused about your review for “He is Psychometric.” You raved about it and gave it perfect 10’s. But then it showed you dropped it and only watched 2 episodes out of 16. Is this an error?
First, I’d like to thank all the reviewers because their reviews got me to give this show a second chance and had I not done that, I would have missed out on a show that I now consider one of my all-time top 10. (I had dropped the show half way through episode 1 the first time around.)
Like one of the review said, this show is 100% romance, so it’s exactly my kinda show. I’m too emotional to handle melos, but the melos in this show are just to set the stage for character development so there really weren’t much angst. The dialogue and non-verbal emotional expressions were just incredible. The chemistry build up was believable and thank goodness, the kisses looked real also—no Kdrama-style frozen lips here, for sure.
I liked the drama. It would have been better if the guys were more assertive in their approach to romance. However, looking back, it fit with their character since they were passive in other aspects of their life as well—all because they were raised with fear. I’ve never seen a dad so brutal, but I guess these types of parents and bosses do exist in real life, where money and power are more important than relationship and love. I must say the actor did a good job because I was scared of him. He was nothing more than a gangster running his family and business using fear to get what he wants at all cost.
I was so disappointed that Lee Jae Yoon played the bad older brother. He so darn good looking that it broke my heart to see him be a bad guy. :-(
You're too kind. :)Interesting you ask for dramas similar to this one because I just finished "A Poem A Day" and…
Thanks. I just finished reading your review on "All About My Romance" and it sounds like I will enjoy it since I loved OMV. I guess I will have to decide which I should check out next.
"I loved this drama...I know the plot was simple but that gives it more points for me...no stupid drama staffed in the plot & unjustified misunderstandings..."
Sounds like the kind of show that I would enjoy. Thank you for writing this.
I've watched this show, but I still enjoy reading your review because it brings back everything I felt while watching it, even though I could never express it like you could. I loved all the characters and the relationships between them. The only thing I disliked was the time skip and lack of communication during this period, but at least the writers did a better job with this trope than many other kdramas. With cell phones and internet access in this day and age, this trope makes no sense to me whatsoever! Right?
My sister watched it 2 years ago and hated it, so I never looked into it until after reading your review. And this is why I like reading your reviews; although you didn't give it a 10, your review was detailed enough for me to want to give it a try. Now that I've watched it, I can say that everything you wrote in your review is pretty much accurate, especially pertaining to the weaknesses of the show. However, those weaknesses did not outweigh what I liked about the show.
I must say this show is one of my favorites because I don't need a super complex story if everything else is good. I just loved the main characters' relationship. I found no problem with a age difference because they didn't start their relationship until she's in her late 20's. I fell in love with KRW and how he played his character, which you described to a T. I love to watch mature relationships that's based on communication and no game playing, so this was the perfect kind of romance for me to watch. That doesn't mean I don't like love triangles or one-sided loves, as long as they are treated gently and with respect. Once again, I found another enjoyable show to watch through ArvisJaggamar's review, so thank you for writing and if you know of anymore shows with this type of romance, please send them my way. :-)
