I know but in novel she gets to know his feelings for XY on her wedding night... In the novel CX actually goes to Xin Yue's room drunk and they do those 'stuff' on bed... And while doing it he calls out Xiao Yao's name which makes her realise the truth.

It's not JC but Xiang Liu also actually cannot play zither... In the novel there is no such scene of him playing any musical instruments.
