It's because her father has always maintained a student-dean relationship rather than the normal father-daughter one... FL, since young wanted to spent time with her father and do things like normal father and daughter do... For example having fast food, camping, hiking, getting picked up from school etc... But her father never had time to do those things, since he was a Dean in high school... Plus he always forced her to be disconnected and didn't allow her to enjoy much... One day she wanted to bunk class, but was caught and taken to her father (Dean)... She was scolded very badly and was given a bad star in her discipline record... The other teachers, even the principal begged him to only give her a oral warning and let her go, since it was her first time, but he didn't hear anyone's request... At home he again started to scold her... When she said 'dad'... He ordered her to address him as Mr. Lin and her mother Ms. Li... FL was very very deeply hurt and she stopped calling them mom and dad...
