no, you don´t have. but i recommend you watch the S2. Maybe while you wait for the next chapter.... S2 was very good. it will be difficult for this one to reach that level, it set the bar pretty high.
I have 2 episodes left but I don't think I can continue because this is just incredibly superficial and borderline…
I am with you. It is pretentious. That's the word that comes to me from the beginning to describe the series. Starting with the old film format for the scenes in the outside world...
7.7 ? for this show ? this site is so weird .. they be giving silly romances 8.9 and 9 and they give a drama like…
It's not that it's so bad. For me it has to do with meeting expectations. When evaluating a series that pretends to be critical and ‘adult’ I at least do it with other standards... and this one didn't convince me. You can't compare it with the scores of romcoms... for me you'd have to compare it with series like D.P. and in that context it's quite behind. Anyway, I would recommend watching it.
Am I the only one who thinks FL looks just like the actress from True Beauty Mun Ka Young? I have to remind my brain a couple of times each chapter that it's not her...
And with a little imagination the ML could be a mixture of Soo Ho and Seo Joon.
I was contemplating watching this, but I didn't like Vigilante. I guess it's a skip.
I don´t agree. I didn't like vigilante and I'm enjoying this one. Vigilante was too moralistic... this one brings up that theme a bit, but it's not the most important thing... actually it is kind of the anti-vigilante. give it a try.
I have seen the movie, because the comments here are really positive .... but oh dear, it seems like I've seen a different movie.... I found it very very very very bad. Maybe it's because I didn't know the manga or anime?
I thought of that too. That’s why they kept comparing season 2 to modern BL dramas and why I barely enjoy it…
No one has said that these guys are fake. I'm just saying that the people who have selected them for this second season seem to have chosen less "effeminate" guys than the previous time and that this may be related to the bl trends.
For me its just show how diverse gay people can be... you don't need to be feminist to be gay, you don't need…
I totally agree with you, that it is very healthy that your sexual orientation doesn't have to be the center of your personality. My reflection goes more on if the producers of the show have actively chosen participants who fit more to the bl stereotypes in order to make the show more successful.
Don't get me wrong, this is more of a reflection than a critique.... (I've loved this season and this morning I've reviewed the video of JS and SH's hug and kiss too many times...).
I think the producers of this season have deliberately chosen less effeminate participants to adjust the product to the tastes of us female BL consumers. In the first season (with a drag performer, a dancer, and several very mannered contestants) I think the issues of how complex and diverse it is to be gay in Korea were more on the table than in this one, which is kept to a minimum.
I think the success of this season is largely due to JS and SH's relationship (and the personalities of the other contestants) but I'd like to know how much is due to the guys having kind of a "straight-pass" ( compared to previous contestants).
The way I binge watched the episodes yesterday because of one random tiktok and now I am obsessed, lol. Only happiness…
Well... I binge watched till episode 7 last week and waiting for this week's episodes I ate up his man season 1 and the two seasons of single's inferno.... :( What should I watch until next week?
Just wanted to highlight how much I agree about the "romance" subplot. And about everything else you said. I don't…
I completely agree with you two. I think they tried to do a satire of Korean classism and the real message of it is what bbb_famous says in the window before jumping. A bit like the movie Parasites... (with worse script and more glitter).
Someone else thinks the whole series is a satire of Korean classism and the real message of it is what bbb_famous says in the window before jumping? It's a bit like the movie Parasites... (with worse script and more glitter).
Exactly my thoughts. How are we supposed to like him after that??
I don't think the goal is to like him after that. I think the whole show is to talk about the class system in Korea which in the case of influencers is even more radical. I think the subliminal message of the show is what bbb_famous says before jumping....
It's's just realistic. It wouldn't be a relatable story if everyone behaved in the most ideal way. Also, if the…
I think there's quite a difference between expecting men to do some work at home (even if it's just organizing their own books and papers, which the guy doesn't even do here) and asking for a series in which everyone behaves in the most idealistic way.
I understand why you say it's realistic. I guess in this kind of tradition-based Chinese families, gender roles will be extremely marked. But just because this is common doesn't mean it's fair or desirable
I think it's important to keep this things in mind as we enjoy our dramas... it is precisely in these moments of relaxation that we can best be brainwashed and that the most backward ideas can take root in our minds.
This series is extremely toxic and misogynistic... if you look at most of the scenes of the doctor couple, she is doing housework or organizing the office and her husband's papers while he watches and does nothing... Another example is the comments that Lu Si is a tomboy and has to be made gentle for someone to marry her.... Or the paternalistic way they treat the young girls with problems (the one with the ectopic pregnancy... who is a good girl but got pregnant because she went crazy... excuse me?... and the other one in a wheelchair who says nothing while her mother says that she has lost all her worth...).... I could go on for hours...
