Yes! I've noticed that Japanese dramas tend to have lower ratings on MDL! Even the best Japanese dramas only have around 8.5-8.6ish. I consider anything 8.0/8.1+ for Japanese dramas to be really good!
I loved this drama a lot more than I expected. The acting is phenomenal and it was so heart wrenching to see the leads keep trying to make everything work despite all the adversities that they faced. I understand how this was controversial when he was 15, but their relationship became more official when he was 18 and then they were officially together 5 years later when he was 23. When he turned 23, I believe that they definitely deserve a happy ending after waiting for each other for so long.
