this is so good. japanese bls this year are so good fr!! japan does it better wbk
Totally with you. Before it was Taiwan but nowadays Japan is again doing it right for me, especially when it comes to writing. My only issue is that when it gets to a climax, when the love finally overcomes them, most of the time (in movies they do a better job) Japan bl is too afraid to get there, barely any intimate touch, couple like moments, glances, kisses... a lot of times it ends up being odd and anticlimactic. But this has been a general issue that I have with Japanese media overall, how they write women characters in romantic dramas being my main issue.
I just finished To my star 2 and yeah, the curse of doing 2 parts that ruin the first ones is still strong. But you can bet we are going to come running as soon as this one drops haha See you when that happens :)
I miss the days when we had a few good BLs airing and coming from multiple cultures like Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan... What happened? Now if lucky we get 1 mediocre every now and then (and let me clarify, this one isn't it).
Another one with potential that became redundant and basic. I knew that they were going to give us this exact shitshow of a last hardship plot to fill in. This is exactly what shows do when they have no more story, nothing else to say and no will or talent to write deeper and touch you. They could have build more angst and on the shadows love and cook this romance more deeply and slower and i would have been inmensly happier. Even tons of flasbacks of how hard it was to live all those years as best friends while in love secretly would have been totally welcome. Instead they went for the basic route. Lately taiwanese bls are on a slump, they just don't hit the mark as they used to. About the second couple... one has good hair. 5.5 out of 10 for me.
I'm so glad that he is no longer a Johnny, that company is so restrictive with their artists... Now he is free to do whatever he pleases and looks like is finding true happiness doing the projects that he wants to do, working internationally, living abroad in Spain, France, learning new cultures and languages.... Happy for him. I wished so bad that Haruma Miura had this freadom he needed and wished for, his company and so made him so overworked his entire life since he started at freaking 7yo... he had no life of his own ever, so not free to even study abroad for a while like he wished to do... Who knows how things would have turned out if he had what Yamashita has now, It pains me still to this day.

I'll start it soon to support Saint, but I haven't seen the original version or anything related, can someone spoil me? Like, who ends with who and all? Is a good drama or just basic? *Kindly ask for it with spoiler tag* Thanks!
Please end it this way, with JW realizing that he is a phsyco mess and goes get therapy and SJ getting back on his feet and gets the happiness that he truly deserves. You cannot posibly give me a redemption at this point and you already broke the cute couple ilusion from season 1. Get them therapy and away from each others. Run SJ, run.
I just genuinely want this to end with SJ finding happiness somewhere else and going on a whole healing journey.…
THIS!!! And what kills me is that JW knew all this, his trauma, his parents leaving him... and he chooses to do the same thing to SJ? How in the world can you know all this and do the same if you love him? Phsyco. If they end up together (that i'm afraid they will) is the worst and unhealtiest bl ending i have seen.
How could they make such a great premise 0 episode and then this messy nonsense of a series? But yes, i'll skip through it and stick for the eye candy, sorry not sorry.
I thought the FL was the opposite of pathetic. I do think she was naive, and perhaps overly enthusiastic. She…
But that's the point, her character is pathetic because of that, because all of herself revolves around him and is there just to support him, think about him and please him. I'm aware that this is FL leads in Jdramas in a nutshell, but still pathetic so i understand the main comment strugle to deal with it. It was a pass when i was a teen and naive, but as one gets older and wiser... it gets harder and harder to diggest.

She is empty, everything she does or thinks is about him, his likes, dislikes, situations... Hate that with a passion. Sooooo many japanese dramas make women be just like that, terrible.
More of a mindless watch and still watchable. I had to grit my teeth because of the FL's OTP happiness/cheeriness…

Didn't i said last week that they were going to give us this exact shitshow of a last hardship plot to fill in? This is exactly what shows do when they have no story, nothing else to say and no will or talent to write some other last hurdle. This is 90% of romance kdramas and jdramas last 2 episodes in a nuthsell.
But you can bet we are going to come running as soon as this one drops haha
