As i've replied earlier to the other comment, my comment on personality and looks were solely referring to 2nd ML role. Some 2MLs are characterized as the perfect and Better looking guy, and that's why some viewers have 2ML syndrome. In this drama, the 2ML character loses out in both looks and personality. I did not make any reference to the actor playing the role in my 1st para.
I mentioned XYL only In my 2nd para and was voicing out loud whether such downplay of his looks was intentional, as i've seen XYL in other dramas.
the 2nd para is pointing at the way how the 2nd male lead is purposely made to look less attractive than the male lead, when he's actually good looking in his own right.
Some 2nd MLs look gorgeously handsome while some don't. Here, the 2ML lost out to ML not only in terms of personality but also in looks.
Xiao Yu Liang is definitely a handsome looking male in his modern dramas eg. Anti Fraud League 2019, but in this drama, was he purposely styled in such a way that his face looks fleshy and rounded? Somehow, he doesn't look attractive in all his costume outfits, especially so in his red bridal gown when standing side by side with ML. Was that intentional?

The scriptwriter seems to favor the FL and 2FL. Both women led the three men by the nose.
