ok, i'm only on Ep. 1. How could that full frame window luxurious apartment with a clear view of the outside world be a mousetrap?! I wouldn't mind staying in one! 🤣
It's neither good nor bad. The plot direction has changed in that he's not alone in his encounters and experiences from Dragon Palace to Bear Island...

you're right in that those soups LXF cook are time consuming - can't be boiled over high fire all the time to get that special tasty flavor. It's simmered for a long time. So, it's cooked with patience and care (love!!!)

may i add, not sure which part of Asia you're referring to. Since we're watching a Chinese drama... Not every Chinese meal has either soup or porridge with sides. And generally, not all Chinese have soup with their main meal. Cantonese people love soups but not a must for every Cantonese though. When a main meal (dishes and rice) doesn't include soup, one or two of the accompanying dishes would have lots of gravy to go with the rice.
Watching all those kdramas with traditional dinner scenes make me go hungry!!! Don't know much about Japanese but I do get complimentary miso soup at the restaurants.
i waited for the show to end to start watching the serie.does xiaofan know how to cook other food than soup? is…
would also like to add that the double-boiled soups LXF cooked would surely have some meaty stuff besides herbal ingredients. I myself love double-boiled lotus roots with pork ribs soup, and double-boiled chicken with mushrooms soup. I can simply have that with my bowl of plain rice
