Thanks. Hmmm... actually, anything goes for me as long as it appeals to me on my very first watch of Ep. 1, be it crime, horror, xianxia, xuanhuan, wuxia, period, modern contemporary, etc...
But definitely a BIG NO NO for Republican era of spy/espionage/mystery. I stay away from such dramas except for one particular mini drama - Maid's Revenge.

Drama drought time is the time i hate most after completing a top tier good drama, especially so when there's no good replacement anywhere in sight!

I would think the scene in #20 wasn't added to remove her irresponsibility as a mother, but to facilitate the plot development of 2nd half of drama...

such resentment revenge trope is commonly used in bitter romance dramas such as this one.
