They are regular humans but with higher level of fighting ability & in search of the Glazed Armour. It's not a magical object. It's a key (made of Ruyi) to opening the vault containing top martial arts manuals of various sects.
All WuXia costume dramas include flying around because of their Lightness Skill (轻功 qīnggōng), a skill achieved only after years of internal energy cultivation. It is not magic.
Xianxia 仙侠 refers to “Immortal Heroes”. Heavily inspired by Taoism. Such dramas usually feature good/evil protagonists' attempt to cultivate to Immortality, seeking eternal life and the pinnacle of strength. Xianxia folklores/ mythologies feature magic, demons, ghosts, immortal diety...

XianXia immortals don't need swords for fighting. They have magical powers. Just flick a finger or swoosh the hand. Demons don't either. They can do mind control and many other things that normal Wuxia cannot.

When the drama revealed that WKX was trying to get back at Gao Chong for his father's death, I suspected Zhao Jing to be the mastermind for the pugilistic disaster 20yrs ago. The more the person appeared to be benevolent and lowly humble in public, the more schemeing and evil he can be.
First, we have sweet flirty bickering from ZZS & WKX. Now at #16, we have some trival squabbles between WKX & YBY. It was nice to watch the three of them together. ^__^
