I am like you always trying to figure out the chinese character, and I found it 罪孽 - zuì niè meaning wrong…
woah, thank you very much!!! With your guidance, i finally found the info https://baike.baidu.hk/item/罪孽/12019848 When this first aired, I had actually googled for zuo nie and sin but nothing came up! Thanks for making my day. Cheers!
I have a dumb question for y'allIsn't the bride and groom supposed to bow to "Heaven and Earth", then "parents"…
So far, there are many variations of Chinese matrimonial rites shown in Cdramas. There's no hard and fast rule on which step and when it should occur, but the usual ancient process is the three bows - to Heaven and Earth, then to the living parent or elder of family and then to spouse. I was surprised to see the hairlock thingy in this drama as this step and cross drinking matrimonial wine are usually done privately in most dramas. Don't think the cross arm drinking step is a must though. For wealthy and noble families, the bride and groom are customarily required to serve tea to the groom parents and/or elderly matriarch first thing the next morning.
In modern days (I don't know the practice in China), Chinese wedding couple serves red date tea to the close family kins/relatives on wedding day and those being served the tea will gift to the couple red packet of money or gold item...
Pengyoumen, anyone here proficient in Chinese? Could you please write the Chinese character for the exclamation made by Nanny Li. -- zuò nieh Zuo 做 or 作 as in to do... but the character for niek or nieh (i don't know how to pinyin this word!!!.
CXZ is the ninth son of the family, that is why Zhao Yuan calls him Juijui. I'm a bit behind, so I don't know…
no, as of #34, i don't think there's any intro about the Cui brothers. Perhaps later on when they reveal the Great Master identity. Thank you @Saydoo for the detailed info. That helps explain the motive behind his working for Prince Sui.
Pengyoumen, i've a question on who exactly is this Cui Xing Di played by Leon Lai. Lord Huaiyang calls him 5th Bro. Does that mean he's a half brother of Lord Huaiyang, ie his mother is a concubine while CXZ's mother is the 1st main wife?
After ep #4, my guestimate is that the two girls are killed by two different groups of people. Hence they are not stashed away together. One girl stumbled upon the police chief and his lover and so got killed. Girl #2 killed by either the psychiatrist or his friend/s or one after another before being stashed away somewhere else! And So A witnessed one or both killings!!!
it's mentioned there it will be gore , violence & nud** but still watching them it's your fault literally it's…
yup, i didn't find those words either. But in any case, i always dive into dramas without checking what tag/genre, except for one drama "Are You The One".
This is for @AnastasiaWun - Did she got raped in episode 29? Also did she had miscarriage/lost their baby?
Hi Mooi, i didn't see yr Q until now. To answer it, i rewatched #29 and even 30. At the hospital ward, Lao Zhou tells Xiao Ran his wife sustained only minor injuries and some scare, nothing serious. There's no mention of her being raped. Since it's not shown and there's no rape scene in her nightmare, i assume they didn't rape her.
While in bed and recalling their struggling days, one of the events was she's planning to leave Xiao Ran and she could no longer conceive. I can't remember exactly what happened as i watched this 3yrs ago, but i think Xiao Ran didn't want her to keep the baby when she got pregnant because at that time, they couldn't afford it as he was still struggling to make ends meet.
Benz Hui @ Xu Shaoxiong said in Cantonese In the past, he thought that so as he treat others well, they would reciprocate likewise. But he found out that it's not the case. The most complicated thing in this world is the Human Heart 人心 . Some people will cheat you, some will harm you and some will betray you. Even after treating the person well 10 times, if you didn't do so just one time, he will consider you a bad person (衰人).

Is she trying to drive the idea for her son to get concubines????
