I'm sorry to say, but he will probably be back just like Lee Kyung Young and others. Maybe in like 2-5 years.…
I'm not sure you realize how big of an actor Lee Kyung Young was in the past. He had lots of main roles in movies and dramas. Even he came back after being blacklisted for a few years. But I agree that he doesn't have the same star power as KSH in terms of projects and brand deals. We have to see how this whole scandal will play out anyway. I bet there is still a lot to be uncovered.
I never want to see this man on the screen again. Not now. Not years later.
I'm sorry to say, but he will probably be back just like Lee Kyung Young and others. Maybe in like 2-5 years. But only if there isn't even more damning evidence coming out in the future. Since he will probably not be charged and convicted for anything. The public forgets things easily in South Korea and there is also a political crisis going on right now.
Just wait for viki (2 eps per week i guess), the subs elsewhere are TERRIBLE. Ruin the whole experience.
It's really annoying that Viki is only releasing 2 episodes per week because they are so short! That's not how you maintain momentum and hype. 4 episodes per week like the original run would have been best!
which other project are you referring to other than knock off?
I was referring to "Marry My Husband" which had "Song Ha Yoon" who turned out to be a vicious bully in high school and had to end her career because of the scandal after the drama aired.
Apparently it's come out that Kim Sae Ron and Kim soo hyun were in a relationship since she was 15 and he was…
Just to clarify:
"As of March 12, it has been confirmed that the 680 million KRW (about $462,400) compensation claim filed by entertainment agency Gold Medalist against the late actress Kim Sae Ron was not related to her DUI accident costs but rather to penalties associated with her involvement in the Netflix drama Bloodhounds.
According to a confirmation letter signed by Gold Medalist and Kim Sae Ron on November 22, 2022, they acknowledged that the outstanding settlement balance for her advertisement and drama appearance contracts, which were affected by her DUI accident on May 18, 2022, amounted to 680 million KRW (about $462,400).
Gold Medalist set the repayment deadline for December 31, 2023, requesting that Kim settle the amount, presumably as a contractual penalty, within a year."
i really don't understand what you get out of vehemently defending a pedophile. Dispatch is definitely a reputable…
And I don't understand what gives you the right to be morally superior and drag a celebrity through the mud with unproven half-truths and rumors. Keep labeling him as a pedo won't make your argument any stronger.
The point I'm making is that I'm against this cancel culture in its entirety, because it does more harm than good. If you think, "calling him out" on the internet will change anything in the trajectory of his life you are mistaken.
Fine, even if it’s a normal relationship, how could he in good conscience as the highest paid actor in korea…
I agree that the whole loan thing was a shady thing to do. Not sure why she didn't have a proper contract or repayment plan in place for that? Apparently he's not above being petty as a person. Yet still nothing wrong with it from a legal standpoint to demand a repayment as a company.
Pedo this, pedo that. The fact remains in the eyes of the law it was perfectly legal until 2020 what they were doing with consent. What we in the "West" might think is a another story. Countries have different laws. It was the same in Japan not long ago. Was it morally and socially abhorrent? Sure. But a questionable Youtube channel and a tabloid like Dispatch are not very trustworthy sources and often have their own agendas. Isn't a person innocent until proven guilty anymore? There are enough examples in this industry that this "scandal" won't affect his career all that much. So all you haters are doing is a folly.
Unfortunately there is nothing the prosecution can do legally in that case. I don't support behavior like this obviously and it is morally wrong to take advantage of her like that. But it's obvious why her family waited to release this information just before his next drama. Character assassination in the public court.
I don't think, the prosecution can do anything legally unfortunately because the age of consent was pretty low until 2020 apparently https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2025/03/113_288883.html even if they had something when she was a minor, which still isn't proven.
