If I am not mistaken, Phupha came to Tian's house in Ep 3...didn't say this to point out your mistake, but more…
ohh yess.. sorry for the mistake.. yes, it is in EP 3, I will revise it.. khob khun khrap!

Haha yess.. the price tag scene is so cute & funny.

Phupha asked Dr. Nam to buy him the green ILY Boss soap + light brown shirt, just for the date lol!

As I said in my previous post, I try to list down my 10 most favorite scenes:

1. Counting stars scene - EP 9
It is the most challenging one for all actors & team. Mix fainted out during filming due to emotional pressure and weather difficulity. Torfun's soundtrack version + Phupha's Heart ring make it more sad.

2. Hammock scene - EP 7
The song & Phu plays the Khlui made the scene so sorrowing.. When Phu said, "I feel lonely", you can see misery from his eyes :(

3. Airport scene - EP 10
That kiss in the forehead.. it is the purest!
Blessing from Phu to Tian, letting him go to grow and he will wait for him, whatever it takes.

4. Phupha sleeps over in Tian's house scene - EP 3
The first time we saw the vurnerable & longing heart of Phupha.. the coversation: "What did u have for dinner? i just want to talk with u.. "... oh i can't :(((

5. Phupha dropping Tian scene - EP 5
Minimum dialouge.. just, "I go inside now.." and "Hounna, wanna make kite with me?" but we can see from their expression.. damnnn... that's what we call chemistry.

6. Phupha & Tian in party scene - EP 1
No dialouge, only both of them passing each other, and their hands brushed each other + the spectacular music = magical!

7. Tian & Tul cafe scene - EP 5
Witty dialogue. Liberalism vs Socialism debate. No "I am not gay, I just love him" statement. Smart & straight analogy by Tul.

8. Khama scenes - EP 8, 9, 10
All hail to the wise Khama. Butterfly-catterpillar analogy is on point. Also with "the hardest thing is to forgive yourself". Khama cries in new year party and Tian farewell hits differently to me.

9. Farewell scene - EP 10
I had ugly crying for 10 minutes straight in the beginning of episode.

10. Tian trying to win villager's heart scene - EP 3
I love his effort to get assimilate with the villagers.. living their local life. The upbeat music is also marvelous.

Special kudos to Music Director who choose the very high quality backsound music.. it gives multiple impact to the scene.

What's yours guys?

Thank you Ayi, Kaoneung, Kalae, Imta, Meejo for your pure souls.

Thank you Papa Tian, I thought you are an antagonist, but you are a very supportive Dad for Tian.

Thank you Chang Yod & Rung for silly & funny scenes. You guys were islands in this emotional ocean.

Thank you Khama, our Socrates of this series. I will never forget your Catterpillar-Butterfly analogy and your line: "the most difficult thing is forgiving yourself".

Thank you Tul for being voice of reason no. 3, for knocking some senses into Tian, the dialouge in cafe is top notch.

Thank you Longtae, voice of reason no. 2, for never giving up to Tian, even in his lowest point.

Thank you Mor Nam, captain of the ship, the best wingman we have, voice of reason no. 1 in this series, competent detective, supporting friend, and knocking some senses to Phu & Tian.

Thank you Torfun, without you, this story will never be exsist. Your wish: "I wish Green Giant who closed his heart, can meet someone who can soften his heart" made me cried a river. What a pure soul you are. And your voice... so damn angelic

Thank you Phupha, our beloved Green Giant, for showing the dedication of life and strong idealism and being brave to open the heart and fight for your love.

Thank you Tian. This story is about you. You show us how the most beautiful characther development. Impulsive, reckless, stubborn, yet you will be on the front line standing up for the truth and justice.. and also thank you for showing pure love which can melt the stone heart of a giant.

I just watched Ep 9 again, so that I can feel fresh for the finale. That happens at 7:30 in the morning, for me,…
hi again dllmzca!

woke up in this Friday morning, i was very nervous and anxious for the finale haha..

me wanna say thank you too.. i learn a lot of perspectives from the comments.. it truly enriched me.

I am a newbie in BL world. My reference about BL is limited compared to others. I know I have watched the four pillars series + TharnType + MaxTuls but I never feel so attached to a series before..

until this beautiful series come to me like a hurricane in summer.

Like Phu said to Tian, I wish all happiness for all of us..

and yeaah see u on the other side of the finale..

Personally, I think 2gether is slightly more popular than ATOTS (but I love ATOTS ... WAYYYYYY MORE). how big…
We can say that they are the most famous BL couples, the ones that have biggest fandom, and source of GMMTV revenues now ahaha :D

First, there were only three couples. They called it the Holy Trinity:

1. Singto - Krist
2. Tay - New
3. Off - Gun

Then, with the meteoric rise of 2gether, they changed the name into Four Pillars by adding:

4. Bright - Win

and I dont know what will they do with the name if they have five couples now.

Although all actors can play in other movies and paired with other actors/actrees, the original mate will stay forever. For example, New is paired with Earth in Waterboyy the series, but people will remind him as Tay's wife, forever.... :)))

Hi Again, All!This wonderful series will end in just a little over four days. If anyone wishes they could do something…
Done 10 times.. will do more later.. 555555

Directed by P'Aof himself. No wonder the idea is catchy!!

But not fan with the make up... :(

See.. this is the problem with Thai entertainment industry.. they can apply proper make up in the movie & series to their actors, but when they do live performance or do the MV. they put the make up as thick as harry potter novels :p

Totallly agree with you, khun Joey.. I've also posted this before, E&M deserve to be the 5th pillar of GMMTV.
This is debatable and I shouldnt compare them to others, but for me, Mix is in par with Gun & Krist, the best actors among the 4 pillars couples.

I felt sad/disappointed after ep 9 as I kept thinking about some of the early moments between them that I found…
I believe it is love at first sight for Phu and Tian.. if you see EP1 where both of them met for the first time (in the front of teacher's house if I'm not mistaken), their hearts beat. You can see both's expression too.. it says it all :))

Most welcome, I just put my opinion here since maybe I am in same age with Phu and understand his rationale.

Does anyone know? In terms of popularity, how big is ATOTS in comparison with 2gether (the most successful thai…
I am also curious! but lets be realistic here... ATOTS is not for everyone's cup of tea. It is quite unconvenventional for BLs pattern which usually show teenage to college life stories. ATOTS is not only abt love story but has quite significant substance about a person development, education, and social issues. So, I will understand that ATOTS and 2gether are in different market in which 2gether market's pie is much bigger.

I dont hope for other season since sometimes great story should be told once, not to be extended.. but who knows haha :D

Wonderful post, as always, Andaman! I was so deeply affected by yesterday's episode that I couldn't even put together…
Haha thanks dllmzca!

You know, what interesting abt this show is, it always creates polarization among its viewers and it is interesting to be analyzed.

Someone here posted abt viewer's demography statistic. In which, < 20 years old viewers are the majority. That's why many of them questioning the way Phupha thinks and made decisions. But for me, (I am in same age with Phupha btw), his decision is very make sense.. so is with Tian's impulsive action and response. Moreover, in our culture (I live in country neighbouring to Thailand btw), age and social gap are still an issue here, let alone the gay relationship. So yeah.. I truly understand that Phu is now in very lowest point of his life and he doesnt see the future of their relationship.

Keeping those issues aside, however, in the real life, this problem will be very easy to be solved. Tian can go back to Bangkok, finishes his study first, while maintain long distance relationship with Phu, do the voice call or videocall regularly, or maybe visit the village in his term breaks. Alas, this is a fiction, where everything should be dramatic haha :D

If they are seperated (for a while I hope), it will be good "exercise" and testing for both of them. I really hope both of them will realize that they can't live without each other. Phu can't always live with his own idealism and sometimes you have to fight for your love against all odds.

Cant wait for the finale..

I can sure you that this show inspires me a lot to be better person!

Damn, still overwhelmed by EP9.

Tian's charachter development is amazing, but having watched EP9, i just realized, there's no a single charachter as complex and ironic as Phupha. This EP9, is dedicated for Phupha.

He is > 30. Rational and prudent always be his base of thinking. Living to take care forest and people during his life. Always put others before himself. Strong outside, a miserable lone wolf inside. Thats why, he pushes Tian to back home for his better own sake, clear his mind, own his own life. After all this time, Tian always lives under his parents shadow or guilt for Torfun. Phupha realizes it's such a waste of his potential if Tian stays in village let alone the difference of their social status. He is mature enough to asses their relationship will be an uphill battle.. and maybe it will destroy his career & passion for the forest. But having said, I think we're going to have happy ending.

I can say, the counting stars scene is my favorite one during this series. Beautifully written with interesting details. At last, now I know the real Torfun's wish is. It is stated in the song:

"If a star could hear my pray, even for thousand of times, I would still wish, for my heart to be close to yours".

Torfun's heart is now just an inch away to "Phupha's heart" (Phupha's ring necklace) now under Tian possesion.

Poor Phupha.. :((( No matter how high and mighty a mountain stands, the sky is only something it can admire from a far.

Note:
1. Phupha = mountain in Thai
    Tian = sky in Chinese

2. It hits differently seeing Khama cries during New Year Party

Ooh you cant imagine how much I have learnt (cultural context) from this series!

I learn about the culture of Thai's hill tribe. Also I learned a bit about political situation in Thai-Myanmar-Laos border.. moreover with what is happening now in Myanmar.

Kudos to the team behind this series!

Oh I love both! as a fan of anthropology, I like movies/series which can respect and include the local culture inside.

Hi dllmzca!! looking forward to your reply too :))

You know what, I think I will stop searching info, theory, or spills in social media since it will reduce the exitement or the impact when the real episode comes. I have become 'too prepared' for the story hahaha...

What I really love from this series is, the love story between two main actors is not a single main focus. We have other focuses here, such as the story of second chances, the story of self acceptance, the story of relationship between human and environment, which are as strong as the love story itself.. and amazingly, P'Aof & team can make all of stories I said before, in a coherence manners.

For the last two episodes, we already know how the ending of the love stories between Tian & Phu.. (come on, this is GMMTV, sad ending is out of option). For me, I dont really care on how they can reconcile. So, I want those episodes give a substantial focus on how Tian reconciles with villagers and how Tian finds better version of himself out of Torfun's shadow. I think the preview has given us hints.

Oh, and I forget to mention...
We have to give credit to Music Department here, for providing us with best OST & scores...

The best we got since ITSAY.

Never seen this comment section so polarized before.. :D
With all its pros and cons, I wanna share my "unique" experience after watching this EP.

So, I have prepared myself for brutally sad episode. I already know in which part of this episode I will cry.
I know Tian will confess everything to villagers & Phupa. I know Phu will be very angry to him and it will be very heartbreaking.

But suprisingly I didnt cry at all!!

I know it is sad, but turns out the impact is not as deep as I expected.
Dunno why, maybe because I have prepared, or TOO PREPARED, for it. :D

But the surprise didnt end there.

My tears fell.....
in the unexpected parts of the episode:

1. First scene, in the temple when Tian met the monk, just hit me hard. It shows how sad Tian was. How the regret keep haunting him.. I think he visits regularly Torfun's tomb (is it a tomb?) to show his regret & sorrow.

2. Another scene is the conversation between Khama & his son, Longtae. The caterpillar-butterfly analogy is so deep & beautiful. Basically, Khama said that every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. Khama, the real MVP of this EP!

3. The Longtae - Tian scene.. this scene shows how mature and healthy their friendship is. I was really sad when Longtae said that Torfun is the one who made him go to college. I was really sad when Tian projects a low self-worth to him self. And it was very touching when Longtae wants to punch Tian :p

4. Phu took the bullets for Tian. No, the touching part is not the action taken by Phu, we have known before that Phu would be shot, but how P'Aof utilizes the hornbills scene as a catalyst to depict the scene. It increases damage effect for viewers..

5. The special scene.. it is beautifully sad. This is the first time Phu states that he wants Tian to be near to him. But we know that this beautiful moment will last very short until Tian confession.

6. Lastly, the preview for the next EP.. again, Khama words is very deep.. "Do you know what is harder than apologizing? make a forgive for yourself"

With Tian's confession and Sakda are done, these are what I expect from next episodes:

1. Phu will explain why he & team hide the truth from villagers
2. Papa Tian relation with Phapirun. Does he know Phu? and also his relation with the hotel near village
3. Tian & Phu reconciliation in the cliff
4. How villagers can forgive Tian
5. and I am still curious by how the villagers survive financially after the tea sachets were burnt
6. and finally, the real wish of Torfun..
.
.
Oh maaan.... by his charachter arc shown until now, how can we not love Tian?

Title A Tale of Thousand Stars Spoiler
LOL! I get that feeling of frustration but I also concur with those stating that there are layers to their hesitations,…
OMG, psychiatric nursing! no wonder your analysis is so deep.

Why dont you try apply a job as screenwriter to GMMTV so they can make other creme de la creme series like ATOTS... haha kidding :)

Anyway totally agree 200% with you. I've never seen multifaceted & multilayered characters like this. Never in any BLs.
Also, never seen a transformed character arc as apealling as Tian. Hmm... maybe the latest I knew is Arthit in SOTUS, SOTUS-S, and Our Skyy...

By the way, due to my unhealty obession to this series, I try to browse anything related to this series in twitter. And you know what? today I saw a photos of Phu & Tian in one scene, hmmm ending scene I think.. and it proves your analysis about the abnegation traits of Phupa, even it is related with his love.

So, yeaah.... I am ready for bittersweet ending ;))
