On Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo Nov 2, 2016
I'd rather have this version of the ending (found on Soompi):

"My happy ending is modern day Wang So's real name is Lee Joon Gi. He's alive and happy...and Hae Soo is just one of his many fans but never gets the chance to talk to him... that's her karma - she has to live like all of us fans of oppa. Always dreaming to one day meet him but it won't be possible other than fan meets/concerts plus the great thing is? Modern Wang So is SO well loved by many many fans. While modern Hae Soo didn't get this same love (since we saw how her ex-bf and best friend betrayed her at the beginning)."

I'm reading on Soompi, apparently there's a missing scene from both versions of the finale and LJG said…
Haha I'm curious too! I really wanna see modern Wang So in a suit! He would be so handsome!!

People at Soompi were speculatung that the scene is modern day Wang So since there was a leaked image of modern day Wang So wearing a suit.

Sure. Search for comment written by ruizaio (first link). She also translated what LJG said to his fans about the ending after the screening/fan meet (second link). ruizaio does the translations and live caps etc :)

P.s. MDL won't let me hyperlink the two links so you'll have to copy paste into your browser. In the spoiler tag below is what people at Soompi speculate what this ending scene is so obviously *spoilers* also in the first link ruizaio also mention what is was too :) but I agree with her...I hate the director!!

That ending of Ep 20...I'm left speechless! Well can't wait for subs to finish this drama :)
Speechless in a bad way :( my heart is broken and I hate the director for ending it that way, even the Chinese (original) ending was better than this. I've only read live-caps so I haven't officially seen the episode yet (my opinion miiiight change? I doubt it though haha)

Apparently it's the very last scene that should have been included. It's a scene of Lee Joon Gi, I won't say what it is since there are others here who haven't seen the finale yet, but I agree with people at Soompi - it's a crucial scene that shouldn't be cut off :/ don't know what the director was thinking when editing it out.

Was that one of the lines in episode 19? I'm too scared to watch it yet so I'm just reading spoilers haha. Waiting for Ep 20 to air but I'm pretty sure I'd cry when I get to that scene. Poor Wang So, my heart goes out to that guy T.T

Is it me or does his head looked like it got cropped and Photoshopped into that body? ...it just looks unnatural. The previous picture was better.

Sorry all, but NOW i am not wishing for happy ending, i really hope to see Hae Soo dying and I hope to watch her…
Also, yep I felt like her character haven't really changed much from her modern life. It's like she's repeating the same mistakes all over again: first by falling in love with an obvious jerk (Wook) and not trusting someone who is true to you (So), even to the point trusting her best friend who obviously have been backstabbing her all this time (Cha Ryung). Her modern life is a reflection of her current Goryeo life. She frustrates me because ALL of her past mistakes should've taught her a real life lesson. Most people learn from it and don't make the same mistakes again....yet Hae Soo does just that. Sigh. True I'm not angry at the story...it is good. It's just Hae Soo's characterisation has me scratching my head lol

I agree with everything you said. I have to say that Hae Soo really is a cruel woman if you think about it. I found this person's opinion on Soompi that I fully agree with:

I know some of you are saying we're all being harsh to Soo. Well, I kind of think so too. I'm internally conflicted with her characterization. However, thinking about it, she really is a cruel woman. She wasn't just simply trying to think of reasons for So to resent her so that he would finally allow her to leave, she was being honest with everything that she was telling him (in this episode) and she was unwittingly digging a hole in his heart, slashing him over and over again. Telling the love of your life that you hate him is beyond cruel in my book. She is so unforgiving to So. Why? Because she always had this lingering fear that he would turn into a heartless and bloody tyrant. She already pre-judged him based on visions that hasn't even happened yet. Anything So does, she almost always thinks bad about. One example is when So married Moo's daughter. He was put in a position where he had to decide on the spot. But what did Soo say? "Are you greedy for the throne?". And now anything that So does as king, she will view as the actions of the "heartless and bloody tyrant Gwangjong who killed his brothers and nephews".

She's cruel because she would marry Jung, a man who can love her genuinely, yet she will never ever love him back romantically. From how I see it, she's using a person just so she could get away from the painful reality of her former relationship and her life inside the palace. She would be married to Jung, but her mind would still be full of So. From the moment she wakes up, it would be So's face that she will see sleeping beside her. When she goes to sleep, she will feel So's head resting on her lap. When she eats, she will look in front of her and see the face of the king smiling back while holding his chopsticks. The sensation that she will always feel in her hand is So's longing touch. And all these... All these while living with the man who harbors loving feelings for you. Granted, I bet Jung knows all of this, but he will still choose to take care of her due to a mix of romantic and familial love.

Is she trying to reject the misogyny by making her own decisions of leaving the palace? Maybe. As a female and a feminist, I fully support women who finally decide to take it upon themselves to do whatever they think is best in their lives. However, I can't ever accept her hypocrisy and cruelty. I can't accept her misplaced and twisted sense of justice. I can't accept her ill judging nature.

This show has to win MDL's end of the year best OST.
Definitely! This is the first time I love an entire full OST of a drama. Usually it's just a few songs in a drama for me....but this one, I love every single song :)

Totally irrelevant, but think anybody else think the 3rd Prince Yo looks like T.O.P. of Bigbang?
Haha now that you mention it...I can definitely see the resemblance!
