Wait, when did Tattooed Hottie start liking Cafe Guy??? Last we saw Tattooed Hottie looking at an old pix and…
Ho Tae did say his past relationships with girls all crashed and burner because of Cafe Guy. So it's safe to assume he's been into him for an eternity. How are you doing today by the way?
I'm still not over this series 🥺. Can we petition for a season 2? I miss Eddy and Ian.
As to their chemistry there is an explanation... apparently this isn't their first rodeo together as they both had supporting roles in 2021's User Not Found. So I guess that did give them a level of comfort and familiarity needed to portray their roles here.
I'm starting to see dislike Fridays. Why you (did not) ask? It's cos I have to wait until the next Friday to continue watching this series. I feel great joy, and despair every Friday. Joy cos I get to spend an hour plus in this little slice of BL heaven and despair because I have to say goodbye and wait another week to be reunited.
I'm so happy this series is living up to my anticipation. I'd read the manhwa once I heard it was getting a live action adaptation and so far it's living up to my expectations unlike a lot of the recent manhwa/manga adaptations over the last six months. I'm still salty over Oh My Assistant, The Director Who Buys Me Dinner and AStCO.
Anyways I'm already counting down the days and hours left to get my weekly double dose.
Oh no! It's game over and I'm not ready yet! I don't know why but I fell in love with ODS even before it started and now I don't know what I'm going to do every Thursday without Eddy and Ian 🥺
What is Unforgettable Love Story? I've seen all the BL's but never heard of this one.
Hi there. As @Dane1823 stated it's actually called Unintentional Love Story. The rest of the information remains valid. It's a Korean BL and it's not the typical 15 mins, we get approximately 35mins of goodness per episode and the story so far is echoing the manhwa it's based on
Weeeeeeeeell that's done! This is why it's not always a good idea to read manhwa then watch its live adaptation. The Japanese seem to do a better job with adaptations (especially of BLs) than Koreans.
I've been disappointed with most of the live action adaptations of popular manhwa over the last few months, as they seem to only resemble the manhwa in name and not in spirit. The New Employee, Oh My Assistant, The Director Who Buys Me Dinner are prime examples of stories that got neutered in translation to celluloid.
I'd been excited to what this series ever since I heard it was being adapted as I loved the manhwa. The execution left me disappointed, I just didn't get the same vibe as the manhwa. Yes I'm aware that most adaptations deviate from the source material or are abridged due to time and budgetary constraints, however I've also watch numerous adaptations that though abridged still carried the essence of the original source material. Example, End of the World with You stayed pretty true to source and conveyed so much emotion that even though I watched the raw version first I still could understand what was going on. Watching it later with subtitles didn't change my experience significantly, rather it just clarified some things.
This just felt off to me. The actors did a good job being that it was the first time for both leads, however their inexperience did show.
The 7th (epilogue) episode was unneeded and wasn't even true to the source material. The two (or is it 4) year time jump coupled with their subsequent interaction made no sense whatsoever! The manhwa (extra / epilogue chapters) established that they were pretty much living together as an actual couple in a physically intimate relationship and looked at some of the issues arising from their rather opposing characters.
All in all I didn't love, but I didn't hate it. Am I likely to rewatch it? No, I'll re-read the manhwa instead.
Sorry for the late response, been a bit under the weather. Can't remember the actor's name right now but he got cancelled over bullying accusations. His company dropped him (after making him issue an apology), he lost all his endorsement deals, was flamed by journos and the public alike, pulled from a series he was shooting and replaced on all his other upcoming projects. His former agency actually went as far as starting litigation against him for loss of income and reputational damage. As you know when one allegation pops up others follow. Long story short, after his lawyers started talking about legal action against the "victims" it was found that no of the stories were true. The person who started the whole thing was a guy in the army who'd never even met the actor. He claimed mental anguish due to his mother being diagnosed with cancer. I don't understand how that translates into destroying another person's name and livelihood though. Anyways he wrote any apology letter and begged for forgiveness. The actor let it go, but the damage had already been done. People also questioned why he apologized if he didn't do anything.,. clearly forgetting that the agencies have an unfair amount of power in the artist-agency relationship. Anyways last I heard about the actor, he's gradually building his career back with a brand new agency. There's also the Chinese actor who had bad press over his alleged spousal abuse. Turned out to be a hoax, a fake marriage licence had been uploaded by the accuser as well as a made up story. On future investigation it was found he'd never even been married to begin with. But again damage was done. Honestly I'm not sure who's worse...the fan(atic)a or the anti-fans, they both do serious damage to the reputations and livelihood of the artists
South Korea has a host of problems especially regarding its criminal justice system, whether for young offenders, crimes against women or rehabilitation services. And when you throw in cancel culture there is little hope for people who make mistakes or have clear mental health issues or addiction. Also the toxic nature of the whole fandom culture is in and of itself a major problem. It's almost as if the so-called fans are waiting for the celebrities to fail, and gleefully rejoice their fall from grace. The number of "idols" whose careers and lives have been ruined without repercussions is there for all to see, just the speculation is enough to wreck you (look at all the fake bullying scandals for instance), however confirmed molesters and g'rapists get a slap on the wrist and self reflection, but an addict...? RDJ is my go to person when looking for examples of how with a proper support system a person's life can be saved, healed and improved. The more traditional and wrapped up a country (especially the Asiatic society) is the more pressure is placed on its citizens and therefore I'm really not surprised they have some of the highest suicide rates globally and alcoholism is a national pastime. Anyway I hope he finds a way to recover and has a strong support system, and leaves SK for greener and more forgiving pastures.
Once more congratulations on your sobriety and wishing you many more years of taking it one day at a time 🫰
Guess you're a monkey's uncle then! 🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding...I couldn't resist...sorry!
Nope. It was the Chief...the guy Ken assaulted at the funeral. I knew he was suss from the get go especially when he started asking what happened to the case if Ken died. He was way too gleeful at the response. Peter is also very suss especially given the way episode 3 concluded. Anyway some of the mystery is being cleared up ...we now know why everybody hates Ken and wants him dead. I guess everyone thinks he knows about the camera that Din hid. More reason I don't think Peter is Din. If he was wouldn't he have already revealed the recording and kept Ken out of the whole mess? But who knows, this series is all up in the air.
How are you doing today by the way?

All in all it was a good time with not too many stakes. It's an enjoyable watch
