Im on episode 3 and i really hate Kei's mother. Like, how are the teachers allowing Kei to be treated like that. Okay Nao is sick, but they just stood there as the mother insulted her daughter...for being a child and then went to just went on to praise how brave Nao is?? Like...um? Well yeah obviously. Revenge is done in real life but far less dramatic...because its a drama. A work of fiction. But what youre expecting is for them to become buddy buddy & help each other, even in the realms of fiction that is unrealistic and tbh rather boring.
The reason he waiting 16/20yrs for revenge is because 1...he had to grow up. 2...he was trying to find him. And 3...the reason he wanted to regain his memories is so he can here one thing - the truth. From the murders mouth himself. He got that. There was nothing left and he realised with learning about his fathers involvement (which as he said he only learnt within the last month), which showed that man hed messed with for months wasnt alone and with how apologectic he is, probably didnt truly want to kill his family. The boy got what he wanted and for him life wasnt worth living & the murderer took his life most likely due to guilt.
Not all revenge ends in one killing the other. Sometimes there is more depth. So believeing they could save each other, even in fiction, unless a deep misunderstanding is so unlikely.
Hurt lingers. Resentment lingers longer. 20yrs for revenge can be nothing to the person whose been hurt. :D
