Though i skipped the first arc entirely, this has been a very liberating and empowering journey. I was dubious initially, but thank heaven i didn't skip this entirely. There's no secondhand-embarrassment, which is quite rare in the Asian dramaland (the writers and drama makers don't know how much i appreciate this). Highly recommend to mature audiences.
There's a major issue that couldn't sit well with me and prevented me from resonating with the ML. ML neglected his wife who died while he was busy trying to rescue someone else in vain. He's obsessed with saving everyone but his wife and child. Even after being given another chance he still insists on saving other people, especially another woman, and eventually forgot about his dead wife without trying to save her. At first i thought FL was his dead wife who somehow resurrected, but turns out she isn't. I really don't get his heroic complex. He would save anyone but his own woman who died of loneliness and devastation, in an utterly traumatic manner, which is why this drama is not for me honestly. I feel so aggrieved and enraged for his dead wife that i can't forgive ML whatever he does.
HI AO. I'm 10 eps away from completing and so don't spoil the end. I just wanted to say --1. I'm Western (American)…
Thanks for the clarification. That tag is so misleading. I guess MDL staff should remove it, especially for those who rely on tags to decide on whether to watch or not. Will comeback after I've watched the show to confirm.

MDL's definition of Clingy FL: 'The female lead is overly dependent and emotionally attached to others. They often seek constant reassurance, attention, and proximity to someone, making it challenging for that person to have personal space and independence.'
Is FL emotionally dependent? I saw the tag added here so i ask is all.

Hi, i see there's a 'Clingy Female Lead' tag here, so would you mind telling in what way is the she clingy? Just wanna know before diving in, cuz i'm rather averse to the clingy FL type. TIA.
just my ranting here and there are big spoilers ahead. Read at your own discretion. -- on ep18 and i gotta say the buildup and acting feel very organic. No artificial sweetener or rushed/forced chemistry here. Kisses were well-executed and there's no deadfish. Both leads were eye-candies and they embrace/fulfill their roles with finesse. These elements are quite hard to come by in a short drama. -- on ep 21 and i hate this arc. The forehead kiss was a huge turnoff and letdown for me T^T. ML why did you do that??? -- on ep 23 and where's ML's atonement for making FL cry? The slap isn't enough for me >"<. I want him to suffer emotionally as much as FL did. Am i asking for too much? -- Finished. Until ep20 this defo worth a watch for the amazing chemistry. And despite the generic plot and the cliffhanger, as well as the dip in quality of writing for the final arc where ML has to pretend to be 2FL's fiance, this deserves better rating compared to other recent shorts that are better funded but turn out to be very disappointing in terms of acting as well as character writing.
Oh please stop giving wrong judgement. They have very good chemistry and ofcos he did his best of best . Can you…
No worries no offence taken. I mainly write comments so if you're talking about reviews thats true, my previous reviews are for dramas i can't stand and the review section is my venting outlet lol. I consider myself to be more of a review reader, not a writer, mainly because i'm lazy and i'm not confident about my writing. But when i feel very strongly about something i'd feel compelled to write. You can check those dramas out to see whether you agree with me or not, as i don't write stuff that i don't think is true.
I do write positive comments though. Most recently it's Fortune Writer (a semi-positive one :v)

this is my true and honest opinion and i don't wanna pretend he's good when he's not in this drama :/ . His chemistry with his co-stars was a click in 'Wait, My Youth' and 'Provoke'. But this one is a miss for me unfortunately.

this is my opinion and there's no right or wrong here. I don't think they have good chemistry but you do, and that's totally fine cuz everyone has their own taste. Btw whether i can act or not has nothing to do with me reviewing this drama lol.
on ep1 and i'm already captivated by the breathtaking cinematography. First time seeing FL and she's so stunning. -- on ep4 and omg ML has to widen his range. He copy-pasted his expressions for all of his dramas (-_-). It's the same nonchalant aloof ML demeanor in all of his works, which wasn't annoying the first time i saw it, but after seeing it reused so many times it became a bit dull and uninspired and somewhat woodened (¬_¬) -- on ep5 and i'm considering dropping this. Can't stand ML's overused expression while he's reciting his lines as if reading straight from the script. And the cliche omg (>"<). Writing is sooo sloppy. One moment 2ML was at each other's throat and the next 2ML entrusted FL to ML without a qualm lol. Anw atm i'm liking 2ML alot more than ML. -- on ep6 and i've decided to drop due to 1) forced chemistry, 2) ML's stone face and woodened acting & overused expression, 3) poor plot writing and underdeveloped characters who sometimes behave uncharacteristically, and 4) it started with a bang and then fizzled out before being reduced into a bunch of cliches with many cardboard characters. ML is not in character most of the time, and his interaction with FL doesn't exude an aura of a married couple (i know she's amnesiac but I can't help but think they're acting and reciting lines on camera). What a pity the plot has no substance, because the palette, the ambience, the camera operation, and the choreography for fight scenes here are so good :"<
Damn this could have been really angsty if there was another 1-2 eps inserted amidst ep22-23 focusing on the ML's perspective, instead of the multiple jumpcuts that breaks the momentum on the 2 final episodes, losing its emotional impact. Everything ML went through, especially the amnesia, was glossed over, weakening the power of his affection for FL. The origin of the Book of Fate as well as why it possesses such omniscient and omnipotent ability is left unanswered. Arggg anyone knows where to read the novel?
Acting-wise, Daisy really knows how to pick her role. Whether she's the antagonist or protagonist, she friggin nailed it and spare no bones. FL carries the show for sure with her indomitable spirit and down-to-earth moral complexity (and of course her godlike endurance for humiliation lol). Her convincing performance got me sold. Hands down. She's not only stunning but also very adept at micro-expressions that reveals/uncover dimensions for her character, giving it layers. She embraces an aura of a FL for sure.
As for ML, due to the short duration, his character was not focused on, and he had to take a back seat most of the time so that FL could shine. Although he did really well on ep 18-19-20-22, he still has room for improvement in the amnesia plot, as he couldn't portray the internal struggle, the unexplainable & irrational heartthrob upon seeing FL and not remembering her, and the incomprehensible fear of losing her. In details, on ep21 and early ep 22, ML certainly does feel the pull towards FL and his heart inexplicably throbs on its own accord, and he couldn't understand why because he has no memories of her. However, later on the same episode he doesn't show any indication that it pains him seeing her suffer. She cries, pleads and nearly begs him on her knees to remember her, gets mocked and humiliated by the onlookers/outsiders, looks pathetically desperate while clinging onto the hope he wouldn't forget her, and then is utterly mortified and hopeless after realizing it was in vain. Meanwhile, he just stood there emoting nothing while siding with 2FL and kicking FL to the curb. There supposed to be angst here, right? But i could nothing but sorry for the FL and resentment and disdain for the ML, because he practically is delivering the message that even if he witnessed her stripping off all of her ego and begging him to stay, he wouldn't bat an eye. Coupled with the fact that there's no subsequent emotional payoff for what FL has gone through, ML's lack of character research there is what prevents this minidrama from being phenomenal. If only his guilt, fear, anguish, and desperation were a bit further elaborated and fully fleshed out, I would've given this a 9.
As a result, i docked my rating big time for the show. But with Daisy's outstanding performance, I can't rate this any lower than 8. Finally, kudos to the writer for authoring some extra angsty lines. I've rewatched those scenes multiple times!
I would like to recommend this drama to add: "Supervisor husband" https://kisskh.at/749477-supervisor-husband…
I also like Li Ge Yang's acting a lot and i think his full potential has yet to be unearthed. I've watched this drama and have no doubt about Li Ge Yang's kissing skill (his kiss scenes in other dramas are also fire), but unfortunately the weak and rushed buildup of how 2 leads fell in love took away the tension in their budding romance, and since i don't get their chemistry their kisses seem so unconvincing and scripted to me. Anw thank you for the recommendation ^^~
I loved my sunshine. One of his work. Do you have any other recommendation for angsty romance.
have u watched 'Rising With The Wind'? Not all episodes are angsty but when the angst hits it feels visceral. I cried so much my eyes remains puffy for 2 days lol. 'Love Is Panacea' is also one of the heart-wrenchers i've seen.
