I really appreciate the character development this drama has been showcasing from the beginning and the very realistic (mostly) portrayal of different kinds of relationships! My only disappointment in ep 9 though was that it felt it covered too much change abit superficially and quickly?? It took away from the immersion I was feeling into their lives. I hope the next episodes will focus more on the present and show us more in depth how they navigate the changes within themselves and their environment/relationships! :)

Title My ID Is Gangnam Beauty Spoiler
Having read the webtoon and knowing her backstory.... nop, still no sympathy from me.Being traumatized does NOT…
I've read the whole webtoon in Korean and if I remember correctly, it was somewhere after episode 60 when we got the specifics of what happened with her.

Title My ID Is Gangnam Beauty Spoiler
Having read the webtoon and knowing her backstory.... nop, still no sympathy from me.Being traumatized does NOT…
Soo Ah was neglected as a child by her young parents who were hardly being responsible for her, her fraternal grandmother was also verbally and physically abusive toward her because she wasn't good/pretty enough to be the daughter of her precious son.
She was bullied at school because she was so unkempt and kids treated her like trash.
Her mother at one point in early teens left her completely.
Soo Ah started being told that she was pretty by other kids around that age and saw she was treated much more nicely when she took care of her appearance, especially by boys. But she also noticed that the more attention she got from boys, many girls would turn on her.
So because of her psychological traumas and lack of support, she developed an unhealthy obsession with her appearance, turned to bulimia and started manipulating others to "cope" with her issues.

And while that explains her behaviour, it doesn't justify it. She's still responsible for her actions! Sorry, long post :D

I hate Soo Ah so much that i don’t think any background story will make feel sympathy for her,she makes my blood…
Having read the webtoon and knowing her backstory.... nop, still no sympathy from me.
Being traumatized does NOT justify one becoming a toxic person.
Sure, if someone wants to atone for their horrible behaviour and change, I hope that society gives them a chance, but we don't get to really see that throughout the story so I'm done with her.

I bet she's gonna wake up gorgeous. Realistically after waking up from a 13 year coma, your biggest problem will…
Hahaha! Yep, I'm not even gonna bother expecting anything in that department..

I just finished watching this for the 2nd time and I'm actually shocked at how much less I enjoyed it from the first time..
I just kept noticing so many frustrating and disappointing details this time, especially when it comes to Hae Yeong's personality, some extremely cheesy/awkward romantic scenes that were emphasised by the relative lack of chemistry between the leads (yes, they are great on their own, but together were lacking sincerity) and the overall depiction of women that initially felt strong only to end up with most of them pathetically having their happiness depending on the existence of men in their lives.
There are much better dramas out there at this point, oh well.

On Because This Is My First Life Jul 5, 2018
I was tentative about starting this drama because one of the focus points is marriage and I wanted to avoid another story about how marriage in the end is the answer..
But, I finally decided to give it a go because of the great cast and comments from viewers that picked my interest and indicated it's not one of "those" stories.
It was a good decision!

I suggest you go into this drama with time on your hands and willing to listen and watch carefully to what's happening to the different characters. Don't rush it and don't expect it to be a series of shocking and suspenseful events. They are there, but they are balanced on a more slice-of-life pace.

Firstly, it was the humour that caught me by surprise, I really loved it, it felt sweet and fresh.
Then came the backstories of the characters.. Oh my, there was alot to appreciate and think about there. There were characters that in the beginning I liked less than others, but once I paid attention and learned more about them I was invested in everyone and their lives.
Exploring different people, different types relationships, different expectations, different needs, different choices. What is family, friendship, love, career, life to each of them and what happens to the pairs introduced to us here? I was immersed into it all.

Finally, I think Jung So Min's character is one of my favourites in dramaland, because she's so relatable to me and she's very well thought of. I really commend the writer and the actress for bringing her to life in a very realistic, captivating and entertaining manner.

So, do yourself a favour, try and adjust your expectations and enjoy this lovely story!

He's such a charismatic actor! Give this man more lead roles so we can fully enjoy what he has to offer! I'm excited to see what The Guest will be like, cause the plot is intriguing..

Title Narratage
The storyline was weak, predictable in a bad way and frustrating. Unless you like teacher-underage student romance (which is basically the teacher taking advantage of student's weak/confused psychological state).
Only worth watching because of Kentaro's acting.

Title Reply 1988
I watch the Reply series once a year. They are all brilliant and I'm so thankful for everyone who took part in creating such timeless masterpieces.
Reply 1988 is the one that evokes the most emotions and thoughts for me, both in volume and in complexity.. The final scenes, especially, always make me cry and be deep in thought for the rest of the day. Which is me right now, after finishing it again.
You HAVE to watch them at least once in your lifetime!

Do I need to watch Reply 1997 and Reply 1994 before I watch this one? This drama looks amazing, but I don't want…
No, you don't. There are a few references from the other series that you will miss, but that's about it.
However, I still wholeheartedly recommend watching all of them, even if not in order of release.

Title About Time
I usually love fantasy romance dramas, but this one is just so boring.
I can't get into the plot because of poor directing that feels like forcing the storyline down my throat and I don't see much chemistry between the main characters either (which I DO blame on the directing, also).
It's a hard pass.
