"at least have memory loss"? I find it very coward to lose that memory just so he can live shamelessly with XF. Compare to GJ who lived with that memory and has to suffer from guilt everyday

She first wanted to marry him. It doesn't matter if she truly knows her feelings or not but from GJ's point of view, they had that past and it's not like she never liked him. He lost her once by pushing her to LCY and he saw how bad the consequence was. And as you said, we see the story as a third person. Maybe LCY will betray her and maybe he won't. But the characters live in the story and they wouldn't know their future. From LCY and XF's pov, they prob both wouldn't think LCY would betray her bcuz they lost the mory. But GJ is the only one with the past memory and he's the one who suffers the most from it. I dont deny that both of MLs did wrong from the start, but clearly GJ tries to compensate his mistake while LCY just forgets everything and live shamelessly with XF. I just think GJ deserves a bit more respect than this and he should be hated just for what he did from the start and not for pretending being "GXW"

Thats exactly why he's not selfish because he saw how cruel and dark LCY can be. He pushed MingYu to go for the dangerous mission. He knows at some point LCY might also sacrifice XF for his crown. That's why he can't let her live in the palace anymore even if it means she will hate him by remembering who he is. It is true that he lied that he is GuXiaoWu but this whooooole time he hadn't live for himself, and love is selfish in general. Why can't he deserve love after all he did for XF???? I don't get why people hate on him when he's literally the one who would sacrifice the most for her.
