Really good actors, but a "total mess" storyline

I came to this series for Luo Zheng as ML (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

It starts with the bossy CEO trope (here, abusive) and the super competent assistant (FL) who adapts.
But then ALL the clichés follow one another: arranged marriage for the ML, break-up, 2nd ML (nice but without charisma), love linked to an organ transplant, suspicious accident which caused the death of the ex lover, the illegitimate son who returns to take revenge, ...

But what was the screenwriter thinking when writing this story????

I accept that the producer add a little angst / melodrama in the series to amplify the emotions, BUT:
### the FL still in love with a crush (which never materialized, she doesn't know if it was mutual) who has been dead for 4 years? who retraces the different places she had planned to confess? etc.
Nonsense !! The screenwriter has obviously never experienced real grief...

The 2nd narrative arc with the return of the illegitimate son / ex-crush, is a little more coherent, and the 2 mothers bring a touch of humor.

+ an excellent CL (which I would like to see again) with great chemistry,
+ very good supporting actors and endearing characters
+ nice but not memorable OSTs
+ production without downtime

### but you need to leave your brain at the door because the storyline is... a mess ¯\(©¿©) /¯

Cela commence avec le trope CEO autoritaire (ici, abusif) et l'assistante (FL) super compétente qui s'adapte.
Mais TOUS les clichés se succèdent ensuite : mariage arrangé pour le ML, break-up, 2nd ML (gentil mais sans charisme), amour lié à une greffe d'organe, accident suspicieux qui a causé la mort de l'ex lover, le fils illégitime qui revient se venger, ...

Mais à quoi pensait le screenwriter en écrivant cette story ????

Je veux bien qu'on en rajoute un peu dans les dramas pour amplifier les émotions, MAIS :
### la FL toujours amoureuse d'un crush (qui ne s'est jamais concrétisé, dont elle ignore si c'était réciproque) mort depuis 4 ans ? qui refait le parcours qu'elle avait prévu pour se confesser ? etc.
N'importe quoi !! Le screenwriter n'a visiblement jamais vécu un vrai deuil ...

Le 2nd arc narratif avec le retour du fils illégitime / ex-crush, est un peu plus cohérent, et les 2 mères apportent une touche d'humour.

+ un excellent CL (que j'aimerai revoir) avec une belle alchimie,
+ de très bons acteurs support et des personnages attachants
+ des OST sympa mais pas mémorables
+ une réalisation sans temps mort

Mini series (22 X 10") very well rated, but I don't understand why...

It's almost unbearable because it's so full of clichés (ALL) and the story is so poorly written.

+ Tells quite well the emotions of the first crushes, first heartbreaks.
+ quite pointillist style
+ OST enjoyable but not memorable.

- Everything is mentioned, without any depth, and the ending is too open for the CL.

I came, by chance, to this series for Eric Mun. It's a sweet, warm drama, very well done.

PLOT: 1 famous but anonymous designer meets 1 “nomadic” chef in Australia. They then find themselves in a small Korean village, on the coast, where the ML takes refuge after the death of his parents. The FL, victim of a car accident, has amnesia. They will face, with the help of the villagers, the "great villain", a hyper-ambitious businessman, who wants to destroy the village and appropriate the FL brand.

+++ Lots of excellent actors, (even the little girl), who bring endearing characters to life.
+ A lovely romance, mature, confident, without love triangle or stupid break-up.
+ the intelligent production is put at the service of a coherent, fairly realistic story (for Dramaland :).
+ The OSTs are enjoyable but not memorable.

- Some clichés like the Great Villain, super intelligent, super knowledgeable, super powerful,... and his "unstable" daughter.
- the vision of haute couture is a bit caricatured.

I don't think that I'll rewatch that series, but I had a nice time to wtach it !

Je suis venue, par hasard, à cette série pour Eric Mun. C'est un drama doux, chaleureux, très bien fait.

PLOT: 1 designer connue mais anonyme, rencontre 1 chef cuisinier "nomade" en Australie. - Quelques clichés comme le Great Villain, super intelligent, super bien informé, super puissant,... et sa fille "instable".
- la vision de la haute couture est un peu caricaturale.

A beautiful wasted casting

Great casting for this Romantic-Mystery series, with a promising start. But the series quickly becomes boring... Too bad!

PLOT: 1 flight attendant, FL, loses her mother in 1 accident. 1 year later, she realizes that her long-time boyfriend is cheating on her with a colleague. Disappointed, she returns "to her mother's house" to discover that before her death, she had remarried, and that her stepfather, the ML, now owns the restaurant and all of her late mother's property. The ML2, manager of a construction company, offers to help the FL take over this heritage.

+ the actors do what they can, but the story is poorly written, the direction clumsy.
+ OST well suited but not memorable.

=> Lots of skipping despite the performance of actors that I like.

Dépitée, elle rentre "chez sa mère" pour découvrir qu'avant sa mort, elle s'était remariée, et que son beau-père, le ML, possède désormais le restaurant et tous les biens de feu sa mère. Le ML2, dirigeant d'1 boite de construction, se propose d'aider la FL à reprendre ce patrimoine.
+ les acteurs font ce qu'ils peuvent, mais la story est mal écrite, la réalisation maladroite.
+ OST bien adaptés mais pas mémorables.

=> Bcp de zapping malgré la performance d'acteurs que j'aime bien.

Great start, 2nd half a bit disappointing

PLOT: FL, a struggling extra-actress, agrees to marry her best friend, a gay painter, to hide his homosexuality from his family, and possibly inherit his grandfather's company. But the future groom's brother, ML, fighting with his half-brother and sister, does everything to prevent this marriage.

PROS:
+ Brilliant leads, particularly Moon Sang Min, the ML, for whom I expect a promising career. (FL meh...)
+ The production is lively, dynamic.
+ The story is coherent, but full of clichés.
+ The short format (12 episodes) does not allow any downtime.
+ K-pop OSTs are enjoyable.

CONS:
- I had difficulty adhering to the character of the FL, not always very coherent, and I am not very convinced of Jeon Jong Seo's acting skills.
- The characters of "perfectly idiotic good friends", recurring in dramas, annoy me deeply.

=> a good drama, which Moon Sang Min carries on his shoulders!

+ La réalisation est vive, dynamique.
+ La story est cohérente.
+ Le format court (12 épisodes) ne permet pas de temps mort.
+ Les OST K-pop sont agréables.
CONS:
- j'ai eu du mal à adhérer au personnage de la FL, pas toujours très cohérent, et je ne suis pas très convaincue des acting skills de Jeon Jong Seo.
- Les personnages de "bonnes copines parfaitement idiotes", récurrents dans les dramas, m'agacent profondément.

=> un bon drama, que Moon Sang Min porte sur ses épaules !

An interesting plot but story too poorly written. Meh!

I came to this series for Ji Xiao Bing whom I really like.

The plot is interesting at first : The ML and the FL meet at the Police Academy, and work together. They have complex and different family backgrounds, but end up being together. Until a fire!

Then, the storyline becomes totally unrealistic (๑•ิཬ•ั๑)

First of all, the events happen in an awkward way. The character of the FL's best friend is perfectly idiotic or even toxic (unbearable). The way the police conduct investigations seems ridiculous (even more for a police series) ...

The faults are innumerable ((╬ಠิ﹏ಠ ิ))

=> So not a very good trip despite Ji Xiao Bing ¯\(ツ)/¯

Nice start, but with a lot of clichés (financial crisis of the Company, villain love rival, fake engagement, etc.).
The pace is fast (it's a mini) but nothing is developed and seems a little superficial.

This series onlly allows young actors to show their talent.

Good actors, but too much slapping and stupidity

Typical Lakorn rich & urban ML VS poor & countryside FL.

PLOT: The rich & spoiled urban ML, son of a deputy, is sent to the countryside to learn the life of his fellow citizens. There he meets the FL, whose parents are quickly robbed of all their assets by a quartet of crooks (including the mother and the fiancée of the ML). The FL will come to Bangkok, become the maid of the ML's house, and study law, to try to obtain justice.

Catchy beginning, but quickly becomes repetitive, slow and annoying (too much bickering & some overplayed characters).
The rest is nicer (when the ML starts to change -ep. 14-15? and the leads start looking for proof) but the "vaudeville" side remains щ(ಠ益ಠщ) annoying.
The only intelligent character in this series is ML's father, but he watches with fatalism without ever doing anything!!!

### the representation of the police in Thailand is VERY unfavorable: the police (incompetent or even idiotic) only intervenes to arrest suspects (judged without any supporting evidence) at the request of rich owners. But what did the police do the rest of the time???
### The character of the “stupid” sister is unbearable: she only knows how to cry throughout the episodes!
### In Thailand, there is no lawyer, no private detective? No one is capable of carrying out a serious investigation?
### The Maithong / Baimon plot is so stupid! Even a blind person would realize that it is the same person (voice, way of speaking, way of eating, etc.). And the “I want to test which of the two he likes” is even more stupid Щ(◣д◢)Щ
This happens when the producer and the screenwriter want to "keep going unrealistically a serie" to make 24 episodes of a story that deserves 15!

PLOT : Le ML rich & spoiled urban, fils d'un député, est envoyé à la campagne pour apprendre la vie de ses concitoyens. Il y rencontre la FL, dont les parents sont assez vite spoliés de tous leurs biens par un quatuor d'escrocs (dont la mère & la fiancée du ML). La FL va venir à Bangkok, devenir la maid de la maison du ML, faire des études de Droit, pour tenter d'obtenir justice.

Débuts accrocheurs, mais assez vite répétitifs, lents et agaçants (trop de bickering & certains personnages surjoués).
La suite est plus sympa (qd le ML commence à changer -ép. 14-15 ? et que les leads commencent à chercher des preuves) mais le côté "vaudeville" demeure щ(ಠ益ಠщ) énervant.
Le seul personnage intelligent dans cette série, c'est le père du ML, mais il regarde avec fatalisme sans jamais rien faire !!!

### la présentation de la police en Thaïlande est TRES défavorable : les policiers (incompétents voire idiots) n'interviennent que pour venir chercher des suspects (jugés sans aucune preuve à l'appui) à la demande des propriétaires. Mais que fait la police le reste du temps ???

A History lesson, probably quite realistic, but 2/3 are long, long, long.

Lesson of this story: power drives crazy all the people who possess it (or almost)!

Very good history, quite consistent with the life of Queen Dugu, with Chen Xiao (ML) and Joe Chen (FL).

3 main periods:

- young adult with conspiracy against her family and marriage. This part is the most dynamic, we get caught up in the game.
### certain points are deeply annoying: the obsessive love of the 2nd prince, no one kills the Great Villain even though it is the simplest solution, etc.

- After the death of the Villain, departure and life outside Chang'an: too much too long, the series becomes boring
=> kept watching in dotted lines.

- Access to the throne (episode 40): The change of heart of the daughter (ex empress) is not credible. It is in this moment that we see that power erodes everyone.

=> This is not a series I will watch again, although I am a fan of Chen Xiao.

Très bon historique, assez conforme à la vie de la reine Dugu, avec Chen Xiao (ML) et Joe Chen (FL).

3 grandes périodes :
- jeune adulte avec complot contre sa famille et mariage. Cette partie est la plus dynamique, on se laisse prendre au jeu.
### certains points sont profondément agaçants : l'amour obsessionnel du 2e prince, personne ne tue le Great Villain alors que c'est quand même la solution la + simple, etc.

- Après la mort du Villain, départ et vie hors de Chang'an : trop trop long, la série devient ennuyeuse => suite vue en pointillés.

- Accès au trône (épisode 40) : Le revirement de la fille (impératrice) n'est pas crédible. C'est dans cette période qu'on voit que le pouvoir érode tout le monde.

=> Leçon d'histoire, sans doute assez réaliste, mais les 2/3 sont longs, longs, longs.
Ce n'est pas une série que je regarderai à nouveau, bien que je sois fan de Chen Xiao.

To watch only for Wu Chong Xuan and traditional instruments.

Isekai or TT series (it's confusing), where a contemporary musician (the FL) takes the place of a “period” pipa player. She joined a music academy, reserved for nobles, and directed by the ML. Everyone is preparing for the selection, aiming to perform in front of the emperor.

PROS:
+ with Wu Chong Xuan as ML, who has an absolutely cute smile (๑◔‿◔๑)
+ Light tone, production which accentuates the Comedy side
+ Beautiful highlighting of instruments and traditional music
+ costumes and makeup consistent with the targeted era.
+ Very nice Opening OST

BUT:
# brainless storyline. Who is the screenwriter?? It gives the impression of a high-schooler or student work :)
Nothing is coherent or credible... It's deeply annoying ლ(ಠ益ಠლ I know that the final twist (but No spoiler) justifies this shaky story, but that doesn't make the series any more enjoyable to watch.

+ avec Wu Chong Xuan en ML, qui a un sourire absolument craquant (๑◔‿◔๑)
+ Ton léger, réalisation qui accentue le côté Comédie
+ Belle mise en valeur des instruments et de la musique traditionnelle
+ costumes et maquillage conformes à l'époque ciblée.
+ Opening OST très sympa

MAIS:
# storyline brainless. Qui est le screenwriter ?? Cela donne l'impression d'un travail d'étudiant :)
Rien n'est cohérent ou crédible... C'est profondément agaçant ლ(ಠ益ಠლ Je sais que le twist final (mais No spoiler) justifie cette histoire bancale, mais cela ne rend pas la série plus agréable à regarder.

Good Xianxia, but if the producers took the same recipe as TMOPB, they somehow missed the sauce

Really good Xianxia, spinoff of Eternal love of dream and with the same vibe.

PLOT:
The FL, a young immortal bird, runs away and lands in the Immortal Sea where the ML, God of War, has been "frozen" for 50,000 years. She wakes him up (but also wakes up the sealed Demon God). Intrigued, he will keep her by his side, fall in love, and do everything to protect the FL whose identity is unclear. All this in the midst of rivalries (love and power) within the celestial world, and various attempts to free the Demon God.

PROS:
+ A duo of great actors in CL. Chang Chen is perfect for his God of War character and Nini has just the right amount of candor for the young FL.
+ Lots of endearing 2dary characters. some are there for the touch of humor. It's good, but not as successful as in TMOPB.
+ The CGI, the sets, the costumes are sumptuous.
+ The OSTs fit the atmosphere well.
+ The rhythm keeps the viewer hooked to their screen.
=> The series had everything to make it a Masterpiece...

BUT:
- Just like TMOPB, the beginnings are promising. But the screenwriter gets lost along the way!

Indeed, there are 3 major narrative arcs:
Ep. 1-23: celestial world
Ep 24-49: mortal world (too long & draggy! I've skipped a lot during episodes 35-44-48)
This 2nd narrative arc takes up way too much space, in an unnecessary and boring way. The pace becomes slow, with no real development of the story, just to show Jingxiu's evolution in (too much) detail.
Ep 50-60: return to the Celestial World.
This last arc, too brief, is quite poorly written, full of inconsistencies and plotholes. Yuangong regains (demonic) power even though she is only a mortal; How can a new Demon God appear so quickly, without anyone noticing? ; Who can seal the Gate to Hell and how? How does the ML return from hell?
There is a Happy Ending (like TMOPB) but this finale is too hasty, almost botched.

=> The producers took the same recipe, but somehow missed the sauce. It remains a very good Xianxia, ​​but not a Masterpiece.

TB Xianxia spinoff de Eternal love of dream et avec la même vibe.

PLOT:
La FL, jeune immortelle oiseau, fugue et atterrit dans la Mer Immortelle où le ML, Dieu de la guerre est "congelé" depuis 50 000 ans. Elle le réveille (mais réveille aussi le Dieu Démon). Intrigué, il va la garder à ses côtés, tomber amoureux, et tout faire pour protéger la FL dont l'identité n'est pas claire. Tout cela au milieu des rivalités (love et pouvoir) au sein du monde céleste, et des tentatives diverses pour libérer le Dieu Démon.

PROS:
+ Un duo de grands acteurs en CL. Chang Chen est parfait pour son personnage de Dieu de la Guerre et Nini a juste ce qu'il faut de candeur pour la FL jeune.
+ Beaucoup de personnages 2aires attachants. certains sont là pour la touche d'humour. C'est bon, mais pas aussi réussi que dans TMOPB.
+ Les CGI, les décors, les costumes sont somptueux.
+ Les OST s'accordent bien à l'atmosphère.
+ Le rythme tient le spectateur accroché à son écran.
=> La série avait tout pur en faire un Masterpiece...

MAIS:
- Sur le même plot que TMOPB, les débuts sont prometteurs. Mais le screenwriter se perd en route !
En effet, il y a 3 grands arcs narratifs :
Ep. 1-23 : monde céleste
Ep 24- 49 : monde mortel (Bcp bcp trop long & draggy !! Zapping 35-44-48)
Ce 2nd arc narratif prend beaucoup beaucoup trop de place, de façon inutile et ennuyeuse. Le rythme devient lent, sans réel développement de l'histoire, juste pour montrer en détails (trop) l'évolution de Jingxiu.
Ep 50-60 : retour Monde Céleste.
Ce dernier arc, trop bref, est assez mal écrit, plein d'incohérences et de plotholes. Yuangong regagne du pouvoir (démoniaque) alors qu'elle n'est plus qu'une mortelle ; Comment un nouveau Dieu Démon peut-il apparaitre si vite, sans que personne ne s'en aperçoive ? ; Qui peut sceller la Porte des Enfers et comment ? Comment revient-on des enfers ?
Il y a bien une Happy End (comme TMOPB) mais ce final est trop hâtif, presque bâclé.

=> Les producteurs ont pris la même recette, mais quelque part, ont raté la sauce. Cela demeure un très bon Xianxia, mais pas un Masterpiece.

A rather disappointing series despite the casting.

I made the mistake of watching this series just after "The rebel princess" (with a top cinematic quality)... Suddenly, everything seemed cheap: the costumes, the abuse of the green screen for outdoor filming, choreographies with cables, etc.

PLOT: The FL, princess of a kingdom decimated following a conspiracy and the last survivor of the family, joins the neighboring kingdom to take revenge. She claims to be one of the Prime Minister's daughters. She meets (again) the ML, imperial grandson, who cannot help but come to her aid when she is in danger. They will gradually fall in love, but have to face multiple obstacles and struggles for power, to survive and be together.

PROS:
+ An epic saga with 54 episodes.
+ very good actors and lots of endearing characters
+ the OSTs accompany the emotions well.
+ an almost realistic and credible story

BUT
### cheap costumes & very abusive use of cables
### slow narration. OK, the journey to power is long, but the series lacks rhythm => so, I followed certain narrative arcs in dotted lines.
### I can understand the excessive ambition of some characters, but I'm frankly fed up with stubborn "one-side" lovers despite repeated rejections...
### some characters are not credible: the angry emperor, the evil "super warrior" Chi Yun Nan, etc.
### I don't know if it's the subtitles' fault, but a lot of dialogue seems flat, even offbeat.

=> I will not rewatch this series, which for my part, I found rather disappointing despite the casting.

J'ai fait l'erreur de regardé cette série juste après "The rebel princess" (d'une qualité cinématographique) ... Du coup, tout parait cheap : les costumes, l'utilisation du fonds vert pour les tournages en extérieur, les chorégraphies avec câbles, etc.

PLOT: La FL, princesse d'un royaume décimé à la suite d'une conspiration et dernière survivante de la famille, rejoint le royaume voisin pour se venger. Elle prétend être une des filles du 1e ministre. Elle rencontre (à nouveau) le ML, petit-fils impérial, qui ne peut pas s'empêcher de venir à son secours quand elle est en danger. Ils vont peu à peu tomber amoureux, mais devront affronter de multiples obstacles et les luttes pour le pouvoir, pour survivre et être ensemble.
PROS:
+ grande saga de 54 épisodes, épique.
+ de très bons acteurs et beaucoup de personnages attachants
+ les OST accompagnent bien les émotions.
+ une story à peu prés réaliste et crédible

### costumes cheap & usage très abusif des câbles
### narration lente. OK, le parcours est long vers le pouvoir, mais la série manque de rythme => du coup, j'ai suivi certains arcs narratifs en pointillés.
### Je peux comprendre l'ambition démesurée de certains personnages, mais j'en ai franchement marre des amoureux "one-side" obstinés malgré les rejets à répétition ...

To watch only for Xu Kai Cheng...

PLOT: hate-love encounter between a manager of an emergency station and a FL doctor, who abandons her career to return to studies and run a store.

PROS:
+ experienced actors, very good supporting actors, an attractive plot.
+ 2nd part (after they get together) becomes better and the FL character is less unpleasant.

CONS:
- Completely unrealistic story and storyline: FL who runs a shop without ever having done business or studied the basics / work at the rescue center unclear (the ML spends all his time helping the FL) / FL evil, manipulative, toxic, ...
If this is the idea that Chinese screenwriters have for strong, independent women..... ☜(:♛ฺ;益;♛ฺ;)☞ Yet the majority of screenwriters are women!!

=> Still a lot of FF for this series, despite the talent of seasoned actors.

To watch just for Xu Kai Cheng ...

PLOT: rencontre hate-love entre un dirigeant d'une caserne de secours et une FL médecin, qui abandonne sa carrière pour reprendre des études et diriger une boutique.

PROS :
+ des acteurs chevronnés, de très bons acteurs support, un plot attractif.
+ 2e partie (après qu'ils soient ensemble) devient meilleure et le personnage de la FL est moins désagréable.

CONS:
- Story et storyline complètement irréalistes : FL qui tient une boutique sans avoir jamais fait de commerce, ni étudier les bases / fonctionnement de la caserne flou (le ML passe tout son temps à à aider la FL) / FL malfaisante, manipulatrice, toxique,...
Si c'est là l'idée que les scénaristes chinois ont des femmes fortes, indépendantes ..... ☜(:♛ฺ;益;♛ฺ;)☞ Pourtant la majorité des screenwriters sont des femmes !!

=> Quand même beaucoup de FF pour cette série, malgré le talent d'acteurs chevronnés.

A outdated and very melodramatic series, barely bearable despite Peter Ho

PLOT:
8 years after meeting during a quarantine, the ML, a PR CEO in the middle of a divorce, finds FL, a single (adoptive) mother, abandoned by her boyfriend. They will support each other, face obstacles,... and end up falling in love.

PROS:
+ 1 excellent lead, Peter HO, who bursts into the screen and even manages to have good chemistry with Janice Chang (whose talent I don't question, but her character is unbearable).

BUT all the flaws of "old fashion" TW dramas:
- terribly melodramatic, dramaland story, with ALL the clichés, poorly done.
- lots of overplayed / useless characters
- repetitive music that ends up being annoying
- ESPECIALLY, the FL's character is frustrating: the simple girl, with a heart of gold, "innocent",... NO, her character is pathetically stupid (she give her localisation at an anonymous phone call) !

=> Watched the first 4-5 episodes with pleasure, then stopped out of exasperation.

8 ans après s'être rencontré pendant une 40aine, un CEO de RP en plein divorce, retrouve la FL, mère (adoptive) célibataire, abandonnée par son boyfriend. Ils vont s'épauler, faire face aux obstacles,... et finir par tomber amoureux.

PROS:
+ 1 excellent lead, Peter HO, qui crève l'écran et arrive même à avoir une une bonne alchimie avec Janice Chang (dont je ne remets pas le talent en cause, mais son personnage est insupportable).

MAIS tous les flaws des TW dramas "old fashion" :
- story terriblement mélo, dramaland, avec TOUS les clichés, mal amenés.
- beaucoup de personnages surjoués
- musique répétitive qui finit par être agaçante
- SURTOUT, le personnage de la FL est frustrant : la fille simple, au coeur d'or, "innocente",... NON, son personnage est d'une stupidité à pleurer !

=> Regardé avec plaisir les 4-5 premiers épisodes, puis en pointillés par exaspération.
