Highly rated drama, for good reason.

The plot changes a little bit, compared to the usual historical C-dramas, with the "hypnosis" aspect, which remains almost realistic, in any case, coherent in the story.

The actors are excellent and the CL is really cute. Theirs interactions are top notch and we cannot remain insensitive to their perfect chemistry.
To note :) the number of kisses is very very unusual for a Cdrama, but makes realistic the passion felt within the CL.

The OSTs are classic for a historical C-drama, nothing special about it.

Last note, which makes all the quality of this series :
- the story is really well written (Great screenwriter)
- the production is excellent.

Nice, pleasant series, if you agree to disconnect your brain (｡◕‿◕｡)

You need to accept that you'll disconnect your brain (｡◕‿◕｡) because the plot and the behaviors are sometimes very eccentric.

PLOT:
Romance between 1 FL alien and 1 ML, CEO with major trauma (and amnesia when it rains :). Twists: 2 love triangles and enemies internal to the company (mother-in-law & her brother).

PROS:
+ ML handsome & CL cute, with good chemistry.
+ good dose of humor
+ Some very nice scenes, with good special effects.
+ SML is not selfish, even when in love.

CONS:
- Many, many inconsistencies, both in the story and in the behavior of the characters.
- Many (too much (૭ ◉༬◉)૭⁾⁾⁾⁾ ) clichés: evil and cunning love rival, jealous and toxic mother-in-law, crooked uncle and rival in company, etc.
- Some characters (restaurant manager) are overrated and overplayed.
- Turtle (CGI) too visibly artificial.
- FL sometimes annoying.

=> Remake much less poetic, but funnier than the male Korean version (witch also had better OSTs).

Sympa, agréable et addictif, si on accepte de débrancher son cerveau ( ｡◕‿◕｡ ) car le plot et les comportements sont parfois très farfelus.

PLOT:

- Beaucoup, beaucoup d'incohérences, tant dans l'histoire que dans le comportement des personnages.
- Beaucoup (trop) de clichés : rivale amoureuse peste et rusée, belle-mère jalouse et toxique, oncle tordu et rival dans la société, etc.
- certains personnages (gérante du restaurant) sont surfaits et surjoués.
- Tortue (CGI) trop visiblement artificielle.
- FL parfois agaçante.

=> Beaucoup moins poétique, m ais plus drôle que la version coréenne masculine.

A great potentiel (casting, plot) but quite disappointed

Interesting drama because it addresses the theme of sexual identity (tomboy, bi, lesbian, gay) without too much discrimination, but not always very good point of view.

Good cast. Quite funny OTP interactions until halfof the drama...
I stayed hooked despite the flaws:
- the very vaudeville tone of the 1st episodes (until the 4th at least).
- slow motion, even freeze frames, when there is a romantic or important scene,

The last half of the drama, that it becomes too long, too slow, painful.
Nine carries the whole appeal of the show on his shoulders, I only kept watching (as the storyline sank into the "he saved my life, so I'm going to marry him but I love some another") ONLY for Nine!! Really !!

I don't know if they changed the screenwriter halfway, if the director wanted to set a dramatic tone, but it's such a waste.

With this plot and this casting, there was such potential...

The series leaves me with a very mixed feeling, quite disappointed in the end.

A good drama, nothing more, which nevertheless had real potential

Catchy from the 1st episode (humor, action, explosive CL interactions).The interest remains until half of the series.

But then, we start to see too many flaws. I completely agree with Zogitt's comment :

- narration too slow and detailed on useless secondary aspects. The storyline has simultaneously Office aspects, corporate rivalries, thriller, suspense, action and too few romantic moments. What a mess !!
There is little construction context, but varied first aid situations. We follow in detail the romance of too many couples with a lot of useless scenes.

- Not enough focus on the CL. The interactions between the OTP are too rare. They're REALLY cute together.
No kiss or skinship in this drama, supposedly for health reasons??? I can not believe ! How did they do in the other series???

=> Big flat from half of the series. Even if the CL is very cute, even if Johnny Huang is really really handsome and talented, it's hard to rate this drama well...

The screenwriter could do better!
The director especially, had a cast with such potential, that he could have made a captivating drama...

It's still a good drama, nothing more.

Romance touchante

Story touchante (romance entre 1 bibliothécaire trentenaire et 1 pharmacien père célibataire.
Cette romance rencontre de multiples obstacles : un ex obsessif, la différence de statut, la pression familiale, etc.

Cette série souligne aussi la sévère discrimination vis à vis des parents célibataires en Corée (étonnante pour des européens).

Ce drama décrit bien les relations familiales (machisme, condition de la femme)

Prestation remarquable de l'acteur canon (Jung Hae-In ❤❤❤) toujours excellent.

Je recommande fortement cette série très romantique, mais pas du tout comédie.

A voir pour les acteurs (géniaux) si vous aimez pleurer

J'ai regardé cette série pour l'acteur (JHI) que j'adore. Et comme toujours, il est génial...

Mais la narration est très lente , et surtout la FL (remarquablement interprétée) est très passive, très soumise. Bref, on a tellement souvent envie de la secouer !!
Je veux bien que la culture et l'éducation coréenne soient différentes (de la liberté individuelle européenne, à laquelle je suis si attachée), MAIS au XXIe siècle, je ne comprends pas la pression sociale et surtout familiale à propos de relation et de mariage !

Bref, malgré le talent des acteurs, ce drama m'a énervée en raison des longueurs et du ton de la fin, plutôt triste

Historical Rom-com to see as pure entertainment.

A clever "gift from heaven" FL, who mistakenly marries a young, not-serious aristocrat, to escape another arranged marriage.

The actors are excellent and bring this story to life (a little "dramaland" and not always subtle) with a lot of talent.
The ML is particularlyendearing, intrepid, insolent, courageous and devoted to his beloved.
LF, annoying with its childish behavior, can be intelligent and resourceful.

OSTs are of good quality.
The whole is well filmed, well framed, even if sometimes we feel the low-budget in the action scenes.

A good mix of romance, humor, action and intrigue.

Dallas version thaï :) :)

It's a Thai rom-com !!

1- You have to get used to the kind of overplayed, the kind of "telenovela" side of lakorns.
2 - The English subtitles are sometimes very out of step (especially in the first 8-9 episodes) which disturbs understanding.

Fortunately, the CL is very endearing (that's what keeps together the drama), so we ignore these flaws.
The other characters are well developed. The secondary couple is also very cute, even if the love turnaround of the 2nd ML is a bit abrupt. Family ties are described with a certain realism.
That said, the 2 "great villains" would need therapy, especially the girl. The use of therapy does not seem to be known or common.

The "farm" context is unusual, but it is a big and rich exploitation, so except in the first fwe episodes, we never see the protagonists performing manual tasks. The work in the last fwe episodes mainly consists of taking care of a restaurant ...

One note, however: OSTs are very strange; "suspense / thriller" atmosphere in romantic moments !!! Scenes with only music in certain passages where the actors speak, ...

The image quality is not great, the framing is appalling (not at all professional, sometimes the actors' faces are cropped) and the sound quality too, particularly in the last episode (but at this point, we want to know the end of the story, so we watch anyway :).

In short, a drama to watch as a classic (a bit vintage, with flaws, but also talented actors).

Un excellent lakorn romantique

Annoncé comme un lakorn dans la lignée de "My mischievous fiancee (mae krua kon mai)", mais en fait très différent.

Un playboy est obligé d'épouser la ML "don du ciel" qui habite chez sa mère depuis plusieurs années, pour échapper à 1 harceleuse, mariée à 1 caïd mafieux. La relation difficile surtout quand ils commencent à travailler ensemble (architecte / construction).

Le casting est excellent, y compris pour les personnages secondaires.
Le ML est handsome, arrogant et insupportable à souhait. La FL est très convaincante dans son amour invincible, mais on souffre vraiment pour elle pendant la majeure partie du drama.

Les OST sont de très bonne qualité et donnent le ton du drama.

La romance devient ensuite really sweet, ce qui met un peu de baume au coeur.

Pour finir, j'ai vraiment apprécié le dernier arc narratif sur la maladie de la FL, la façon (réaliste, pour une fois) dont le ML l'accompagne, s'angoisse... Ce thème de la maladie est abordé avec beaucoup d'authenticité et de finesse.

Heureusement, cela se conclue par une happy end très satisfaisante et détaillée.

Lakorn fortement conseillé !!

Lakorn inhabituel, à ne pas rater

Lakorn inhabituel et inattendu, avec romance, vie rurale, écolo, nature & découverte de la culture isan.

Les acteurs sont géniaux :
Nadech Kugimiya en ML anti-héros, un peu looser, hésitant, lâche,... assume un rôle difficile avec un talent fou !
Bow incarne la FL compétente, déterminée, à la perfection.

On découvre avec plaisir la Thaïlande rurale (isan), ses coutumes, sa cuisine, ses croyances, les fêtes, la musique. .. ce qui est très rarement mis en valeur.

Cette série constitue en outre, un vrai plaidoyer pour décroissance et la protection de l'environnement. On y reçoit même des leçons de DIY et mesures anti-déchet. :) :)

Excellent and conforting after "one and only"

Part 2 of Mo Bao Fei Bao's novel (contemporary)

PLOT: Misfortunes, conflicts, and unspoken secrets within a wealthy family are seen through the romance between a well-known voice actress (FL) and the heir to a prominent family.

In the background of this story, the tragic love story and reincarnation of a traitorous general and a princess (CL) unfolds.

+++ A great CL with Bai Lu and Ren Jia Lun
+++ A bunch of excellent actors (especially Ci Sha)
+++ Superb, efficient production with sumptuous sets.
+++ Addictive OSTs (especially Mao Bu Yi's, which is now on my playlist)

### A few twists are a bit too obvious
### No kissing scenes (because of Ren Jia Lun), which detracts from the story's credibility

=> It's well-acted, captivating, full of mystery and suspense, and everything is coherent.

PLOT: Malheurs, conflits, non-dits d'une famille riche vus au travers de la romance entre une FL (doubleuse connue) et l'héritier d'une grande famille.
En arrière-plan de cette story, l'histoire d'amour et de réincarnation d'un général traitre et d'une princesse (CL).

+++ Un great CL avec Bai Lu et Ren Jia Lun
+++ A bunch of excellent actors (Ci Sha notamment)
+++ Superbe production, efficace, dans des décors somptueux.
+++ OSTs addictives (particulièrement celle de Mao Bu Yi qui est désormais ds ma playlist)

Bien meilleure que la version coréenne !!

Je l'ai regardée car j'avais bien aimé la version coréenne de 2004 avec Rain, et que j'aime beaucoup Mike Angelo.

Je ne l'ai pas regretté car cette story thaï, qui revisite la version (originale) coréenne, mais en l'adaptant, est beaucoup plus réaliste et plus actuelle ...

L'ensemble du casting est très bon, et on voit enfin des acteurs qui parlent un fluent english :)
Les personnages secondaires sont bien développés, détaillés. Il n'y a pas trop de twist et de "great villain", juste une amie d'enfance manipulatrice et auto-centrée (ce qui arrive aussi dans la vraie vie :( )

Le couple lead est génial (aussi bien Mike Angelo que Aom Sushar Manaying) et l'alchimie est palpable. Ils sont vraiment cute tous les 2, hormis les (trop) longs moments où j'avais envie de secouer le ML pour ses hésitations et son indécision...

Les OST sont excellentes aussi, et particulièrement la chanson titre.

Petite remarque amusée : Ce drama est une vraie glorification du tourisme en Corée (on peut y voir les principaux sites à visiter à Séoul). Il est assez rare qu'autant de passages d'une série soit tournés à l'étranger.

Drama culte, mais devenu trop vintage

J'ai regardé ce drama de 2004 pour Rain (que j'aime beaucoup) et pour les commentaires très flatteurs qu'il affichait.

Le plot de départ est attrayant (Couple antagoniste cohabitation forcée), et la 1e partie de la série est bonne.

Mais.... il y a toujours un MAIS :
- on se lasse très vite des querelles, malentendus, non-dits ... au sein du CL, qui durent, durent, durent.
- la narration comporte trop de longueurs dans la 2nde partie,
- Song Hye-Kyo jeune, n'est pas meilleure actrice qu'actuellement (hormis sa jolie apparence, ses "actingskills" sont bien légères)

En bref, un drama à voir pour compléter votre Drama Culture, mais dont vous ne garderez pas un souvenir impérissable.

Pure rom-com - pas pour débutant, mais drôle

A regarder comme une pure rom-com, à ne pas prendre au sérieux. Pas de grand message philosophique, mais distrayant.

La story est bien menée, sans longueur. On ne sait pas ce qui va se passer à chaque instant. La réalisation est sympa, mais il faut être indulgent car les ficelles sont souvent grosses.

Les acteurs sont excellents, n'ont pas peur du ridicule car l'humour est souvent caricatural et les personnages surjouent beaucoup.
Le ML est particulièrement handsome (August Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong :) et j'espère le voir dans des rôles plus sérieux.

Une question : pourquoi les lakorn incluent systématiquement de la musique en continu ? Pourquoi tant de bruitages (renforcent l'humour ? pas ¨sür... plutôt gênant).

En résumé : drama conseillé si vous avez l'habitude des lakorns et sans prise de tête. Très drôle si on est indulgent.
