I don't know how people think this is a "ripoff" of BPS. This is an original script (not based on a novel or remake)…
@PianoPlayer1 Since you said you didn't look into this much and judged it purely on aesthetics and first impressions, I'll give you a little background information about this lakorn. Casting was finalized in November 2017, fitting happened in January 2018 and filming began in February 2018. BPS aired in February 2018-exactly one week before this started filming. So how could TEMYTC possibly be influenced by BPS-or copying it in hopes of achieving the same success-when it was already in production long before BPS was even broadcasted?
I understand that at first glance they give off a similar vibe. But the only similarity between them is that they're both historical comedies. Plot and characterizations are completely different-one's a time traveling rom/com, the other's a medical drama mixed with comedy. Even costumes and set designs aren't all that similar because TEMYTC takes place in a rural area-the clothing and hairstyles are more simple and common. BPS's costumes, shooting locations and hairstyles are more lavish.
TEMYTC's team worked diligently and quietly on this for over a year and put a lot of effort and details into creating an original and meaningful story. Mario had to learn from a real doctor and Kim had to take swordfighting lessons to portray their roles and scenes accurately. To say that TEMYTC is trying to copy BPS is a huge insult and discrediting all of the actors, producers, writer and editor's hard work.
Nine and Mo look so good and had sizzling chemistry together at the fitting. Hopefully Ch.3 noticed all the attention this pair got on their social media and gives them another lakorn as leads. It happened with Great and Kao after she played rai in Great and Bella's lakorn. Lakorn gods hear my prayer!
I don't know how people think this is a "ripoff" of BPS. This is an original script (not based on a novel or remake) that was already written and in production since November 2017-WAY before BPS even aired. There's nothing remotely similar between the two plots aside from your typical love triangle trope. BPS is about time traveling/soul switching and court politics whereas TEMYTC is about an herbal medicine doctor-a Thai boran medical drama if you will. Even the characters can't be compared as Thong Ek is the complete opposite of Date. Kim and Bella's characters may be silly, but Chaba is humorous in a childish way while Karakade was quirky. Just because BPS was successful doesn't mean any new historical comedy lakorn is trying to copy it.
