Boring , flat drama ruined by main leads rescued by the second lead Shing Song Rok

If it wasn't for Shin Song Rok's presence in this drama (Jayden) I would have dropped it from fourth episode
he was the only character that got me interested to know his story ,, this drama is most draggy boring cold Law drama I've ever watched ,, it didn't met the Law /court requirements nor the medical drama requirements
for Ji Sop's long history of good dramas this one is his biggest failure ,, why he acted his role that way ?? why was he that cold and flat in the most important and emotional scenes ? He didn't even cried for his dead mother's corpse
and the female lead don't get me started on how freezing cold her performance was ,, she was like a talking doll even when she cried I felt it so cringy
Again if it wasn't for Jayden or the second lead Shin song rok this drama would have been dead from fourth episode ,, he was the one who carried this drama on his shoulder ,, his way of expressing all the character's emotions towards the leads forced me to continue watching ,, I wanted to know what was his story ,, was he bad ? was he good ? why he's taking revenge path more than the male lead himself ? ,, How smart and cunning is he ??
Why Jayden is playing all these tricks ?? what was his ultimate goal ?
all that was the reason for me to stay and I didn't care one second about male lead's revenge because he was playing by the rules every thing was legal and he was saving the bad guys and working with them most of the time as they didn't do anything wrong to him ,, How could he ?? I wondered a lot how could someone gunning for revenge work with the people who killed his own mother and nearly killed also did them favors sometimes because he was the good guy and a doctor what the hell ??
It got political at one point and there were so many villains and bad people more than good ones so it got so draggy but it picked up the pace at last four episodes again and Jayden's motives became so obvious and his secret was going to be revealed so it got much more interesting at the last four episodes and just skip through the leads nonsense they don't matter at this point
.. the ending was Meh and I'm not happy about What happened to Jayden at the ending but it's okey didn't expect much from this drama anyway

Very messy story skipped 80% of most military scenes and romance is horrible

If it wasn't for Xiao Zhan I wouldn't even bother to watch this drama at all
it was a very boring ,, draggy ,,messy and intolerable at times
I skipped most of the drama because it was meaningless or over the top patriotism crap not natural not smooth
they punch you with patriotism speeches most of the time ,, the military aspect of it was horrible
the second male lead should have been the first and the romantic story between the triangle of love was very bad executed and bad all together
I couldn't like the female lead one bit ,, she was annoying most of the time and even her story with the main lead seemed forced to the end
The whole drama was really big failure in my opinion ,,it wasn't enjoyable watch in any way ,, it was disappointing and frustrating to watch
You have to skip a lot and won't be satisfied
I won't recommend it to anyone

Ming Family are the best family

Of course I knew about this drama after watching Nirvana in fire the first season and fall in love with the actors who are the same actors in this one ,,, I wanted to see the best friends from Nirvana as brothers in the disguisers
But I was in for a treat it had more Bromance and Brotherhood than Nirvana also it has amazing family love and caring
It was enjoyable to watch how the brothers love each other ,, care about each other and Protect each other
sometimes I felt that the male lead acted like a childish grownup it was ridiculous sometimes but it was for a reason
the story was smart and interesting ,, kept me interested the whole time despite the awful romance story of Ming Tai
he had one cold distant love interest that made me cringe in every romantic scene
I cried and laughed and enjoyed every episode with this amazing family of grownups who were manipulative yet their hearts were always for their family and country not any one else
I recommend watching it so much if you like family drama with spy and action story but skipp the few awful scenes of bad romance

Chinese version of Sherlock and Watson bonded over Food and investigation

I watched this drama after a recommendation from a friend ,, she said it has the best friendship and character development ,,, she knows what I like in my dramas to watch
she was totally right ,, I thanked her for this gem
at first episodes I was a bit bored at first ,, I didn't know where is the friendship or the bond ,, I see people investigating only then it began to build up it's own momentum ,,, the characters became closer to each other and they began to experience their own battels ,,, there were some funny scenes I didn't find very funny but after ten episodes or more it showed how ever character behaves and what is his or her intention
the Two friends became closer and closer with the story as it moved along ,, it's pace was just right not too slow not too fast
the Two friends completed each other short comings ,, one with the brain , the other with muscles (fighting skills)
one protected the other
also it had good family and friendship values that I admired so much
the male lead did a great job and I fell in love with him and his character
he seemed annoying and selfish at first because he acted as the smartest person in the room most of the time but then his character learned to behave modestly towards his family and friends ,, his true nature became clearer and lovable
he loved every one around him and cared for every one and treated every one with the right compassion
the best part of the drama is the last ten or so episodes they were full of angst and Bromance
it became so clear how the second male lead love his friend so much and care for him ,, he protected him always but at the final episodes he cared for him more than anyone else ,,, he cared for his safety more than the people he serves or the king
yes he protected the king too but his friend didn't leave his mind for one second asking about his news all the time
there were some plot holes in the story but it's ok I don't mind them at all
some cons:
the second male lead's acting was lacking at times ,, his acting skills are a bit week not too much
killing the guy who look exactly like the third male lead was a bit weird as if it was ok to kill one commoner for the royal one and the male lead didn't react to that ,, I was surprised how ok they were about this matter
After all ,,, I loved this drama as a very good bromance drama

Smart Chess play with a lot of legal planning and zero romance

If it wasn't for the male lead probably this drama would have failed miserably ,, even the plot isn't bad but it's not thrilling either,, it started strong with mix of fantasy and fiction but it fell into a lot of planning and a lot of legal talk
Too much time spent in just preparing the chess board so the male lead can play his enemy and outsmart him in his own game
I'm not saying it's bad drama ,, it's really smart drama but it's not thrilling enough and I'm not talking about the fight scenes ,, I'm talking about how it lacks the element of surprise and the close calls of important characters in danger and so on
they took too much time growing the main lead into his ultimate shape so he can be at the same level of preparation and intelligence to beat his enemy ,,, they showed us from his college days how he had previous knowledge of what will happen so he can be ready this time and that's cheating in my opinion if it's a chess game ,, he has previous knowledge of his enemies moves that's why he can now make his own moves accordingly lol
of course it was check mate from the first episode that's why he needed that second chance to play again on his own terms this time around
the drama is enjoyable to watch but there were some episodes in the middle a bit draggy and boring but it's all building up for his fighting chance
Lack of romance was a bonus here ,, because romance doesn't fit in such story ,, it would be odd and out of place ,, the male lead is fighting for his own life and justice not for his lover and that's refreshing
If you like mature drama , have the patience for it and of course you love the male lead as I'm I recommend this drama for you
if you want to watch more action scenes or more fantasy or more thrilling drama has lots of chasing and dangerous situations this isn't it

Boring and doesn't have any actual intense rescue nor it's a strong romantic drama either

This was going to be my first chinese rescue drama especially for the main leads ,, I've tried watching many other rescue or medical chinese drama and all of them were disappointing not interesting or thrilling in any way... unfortunately this is the same
BORING ,, DRAGGY AND Slow
they mixed few very short rescue scenes without actual rescue operation ,,, very short scenes of training and rescue missions
and a lot of boring long scenes just the leads talking ,,,,very old repetitive stories of main couple falling in love and family members against their love ,, isn't that archaic and very old
the over protective arogenate brother who did every thing annoying to stop his sister from loving the man she loves was the most annoying thing ever and to be honest the secondary couple of the male lead's sister and her boyfriend were the best couple of the whole drama not those cold leads
and why the hell the female lead has this stone cold frozen face all the time
this drama has some short sweet scenes for the secondary couple and few short scenes of rescue missions but the rest was all boring and non interesting to me in any way
that scrawny male lead who can't carry his own weight and making him a rescuer was the most ridiculous thing ever
Very disappointed from this drama and I was waiting long time to watch it

The ending made me felt like I wasted my time watching it

The jumps between the time lines through out the movie was horrible ,,made me confused at first ,, thought the story would go somewhere unpredictable but it's worse ,, it was actually as it showed
It was a Bromance between the police officer and the gangster but I didn't like the ending at all
the male lead was used from every side and he became the thing he was hunting at the first place
the movie is ok but not perfect
the acting of the leads was the best
Im Siwan is my favorite young actor in this genera but they didn't use all his potential too

powerful drama with a lot of pain and sacrifice

Die ten life times for the one you love most
this is the message that this drama is telling ,, How to give your self completely to the one you love no matter how much you suffer or hurt even from them
The first half of the drama wasn't that strong and I got bored a little at the beginning ,, I was so annoyed with the Female lead's stupidity ,, she has the lowest IQ ,,, I got annoyed a lot of her lack of good judgment till episode 20 then she started to have some common sense and to grow up a bit .... the writer made the lack of her senses is the reason she was stupid but I don't think that was logical ,, may be the lack of her senses can make her cold or arogenate or heartless but not full on love and stupid hahaha
the second half of the drama it became more powerful and really exciting ,, I was really interested and involved more in the story in the second half ,, I didn't like the misunderstandings between the leads but I liked the male lead's suffering ,, it was really good Whump ,,this drama is considered the king of Whumper (hurt male lead the most )
The acting
was perfect from every single actor ,, they are all were the best ,, I enjoyed their performance and their unique characterization to every one of them ,,, every one has his own story yet it didn't get lost along the way and every one has his own purpose and happy ending ,, I really really liked that
I liked every thing about the second part of the drama that I want to repeat it again and again
This drama deserves all the hype around it ,, you just need to withstand the first few episodes and you will be surprised How good this drama is ,, the second part of it was The best
I recommend it so much to any one but I will advice always to bare the first half of it so you can enjoy the rest

Annoying Female character ruined the whole thing

I think I'm a masochist watching this Horrid drama
I kept watching for the friendship ,, but I was so annoyed with the female lead and ridiculous passiveness of the first male lead
I struggled to keep watching ,, I kept skipping a lot
I can't imagine How much the writer and director hated that actress or hated that character
they perfected the portrayal of the most annoying love interest ever
and I'm not exaggerating
How can the smartest person in the story get hit and bullied all the time by this girl that he likes
He was also greedy ,, didn't appreciated a lot of his best friend's kind gestures
I really tried to watch this drama objectively but couldn't
I don't think it's considered Bromance because I didn't see much of that in this

Funny But really stupid non logical Bromance drama

I watched it for the Bromance but I found it really silly , not coherent or logical but still it had it's funny scenes that made me laugh a lot
It wasn't comedy but it had it's really funny scenes
the story was a mess ,, You can't even follow who wants to kill whom or why ?
Killing people in this drama is just ridiculous ,, there was one scene were the male lead killed two soldiers just because he wanted his friend to eat his meal
The insane second main lead was crazy with no conscious or cell of brain in his head
they started portraying the first main lead as the smartest person but him staying with this idiot wasn't smart at all
he didn't even avenge his family or did anything for that matter
I don't know if this drama was just for Bromance sake only or what
I didn't see them real friends but rarely
How can a friend whip his friend or take his enemy as his ally just because he was angry at him ?
It was really abusive relationship
even the one he married he took her by force ,, she doesn't love her
for one I feel sorry for the female character here
I don't recommend this drama to anyone

Underrated thriller drama with Bonus strong Bromance/friendship

I'm writing this review and the drama isn't finished yet that's how excited I'm about this underrated gem
This drama is released at the same time with so many good Korean dramas and two of the same genera with more famous younger actors and in public Korean channels not OCN a private channel so you can understand why it's not famous or has higher ratings that's the only reason I could think of

because this drama is just a fresh breath of air among so many disappointing dramas

The actors
are just perfect ,, they aren't Idols or that young and handsome as usual but their acting is top notch especially the two Male leads the two Ajussis oh ,, I can't say enough about those two great actors ,, they are both famous of previous hit dramas Mouse and Squid game ,, their chemistry on screen as best friends is just breath taking
I don't want to exaggerate and say they love each other because they do as brothers in the drama the detective really really cares for the doctor so much that no one else care about him as he did and the bromance is epic in so many episodes and so many great friendship scenes that makes your heart flatter also their friendship with the female lead is just as amazing no love triangle nor much romance but there is slight romantic interest between the detective and the female lead
her English accent by the way is perfect for a korean actress I think she's actually partially American ,,, she was casted perfectly for her role

THE STORY
It's so fresh as a subject not typical crime story has unique take on Arsonists using chemical fires as it's way to commit murders
also the mystery is so complicated with so many variable and hidden secretes that you can't guess who did that then and now for the first half of the drama and the second half you start to guess but no luck until near the finale
the pacing is fast and there is no dull or boring episodes at all

The production is really good also the CGI ,, there is no gore nor obvious violence nor inappropriate scenes at all you can watch this with you family at ease you won't feel uncomfortable ever

The Bromance is a bonus and it gave the drama so much more value to the humanity of it and how humans connect with each other trying to help each other when they are the most vulnerable
it's classy and has great emotions you won't ever regret watching it

I so recommend watching this amazing drama and I decided on re watching it again after it finishes

I almost Vomit ,,, they were trying to adopt Venom marvel American movie but failed horribly

I had high hopes for this one, I thought it was about a psycho killer and the male lead has some foresight after losing his eye to that killer that he can actually watch the crimes and hunt that killer
but apparently, I imagined all that in my head
this drama is a mess ,,, the male lead was abducted and his eyes were harvested but he regained consciousness and managed to reattach one of his eyes to his face again so, IS HE AN ALIAN?
Nope, He's a genetically modified human apparently called connect LOL
Too many sticky parts dismemberment scenes and the sound of flesh cutting and flesh reattachment with all its gore graphic details
one sex scene because psychos have the right to have sex in the middle of this gore
and finally, the male lead got his eye back and didn't kill the psycho because he's a decent deformed human and it was an open ending
Overall watching this drama wasn't pleasant or amusing it was just meh

I watched this drama for the two brothers didn't care about the main couple

When it was on air this drama grabbed my attention because of the relationship between the two aquatic demons couple
and their brotherly relationship, I love brotherly relationships more than romantic boring one
I downloaded all the episodes to watch it later on and enjoyed the story and maybe like the main couple on the way and when it came the time to watch it
I tried to like the main couple at first but it was too boring for my taste,, the same old romantic story in every single Xienxia drama out there nothing new or unique
I've tried to keep watching the main couple but I couldn't so I started skipping a lot,, I skipped a lot and I didn't regret it at all
because the story didn't move much until the two brothers came to it and it became about their relationship and the secondary romantic couples relationship,, then it became interesting and I started to enjoy the drama
I like the secondary romantic couple story so much more than the main and to be honest, the writer stalled the main couple and made them so boring and repetitive to the point of abandoning them to the secondary couple problem and their unique relationship
I loved how the two brothers loved each other despite being at odds most of the time,, and hated how stupid the evil brother was doing everything wrong for the one he loved so much his brother and his lover
He destroyed everything he had with his own blind vengeance
I really loved the kind loving caring brother and King hated how he was so passive in his own love relationship always forgiving always passive
The two different endings were equally bad
There was no happy ending
They killed one side of the story just to let the other one live so what's the point
Maybe I prefer episode forty to episode thirty nine because He Na lived and he suffered so much to die in vien
overall this drama is not very good in my opinion

Best chinese school drama ever , Best school drama since korean drama school 2013

I didn't expect to watch such a masterpiece in Chinese school drama
it's close to real-life High school and students' Lives Everywhere
It doesn't get into the love lives of the students because they are too busy handling their own social problems and their struggles as high school students,, it shows a generation was mostly interested in schools and their families than their raging hormones,, Yet the drama showcases multiple problems the students face when they wanted to have romantic relationships
It handled many social and psychological issues that many students struggle with anywhere
the drama made us fall in love with the perfect teacher, the mentor, the big brother, and the leader
and also showed that he's human too has a past and has problems of his own
I loved how this drama struck every sense of humanity and responsibility in its stories
not one episode of Bordeom, no toxic people other than some bad people and they were diminished
not everything is in its Ideal state or ever good,, it's life with all its turbulence and peaceful times

I really can't stop talking about How good this drama is
if you watched it you won't ever regret it, ever
it's family drama no kissing scenes no adult scenes, no Too violent scenes
it touches on very sensitive subjects such as suicide and bullying
it doesn't go into deep with very troubled teens,, they are all regular teens with mild to somewhat serious social
issues but not too serious
maybe there were more serious issues to be addressed for high school students but they didn't go there
