I think that trailer was essentially a fun cultural reference (old SK ad) for Koreans -only- and I'm not really surprised the rest of us, as non-Koreans, found it weird or cringe. We misinterpreted it without knowing its socio-historical context. I don't believe there was any malicious intentions on either sides. This will probably happen again ! 🤷🏻♀️

Oui, j’ai survécu ! 😅 Awaken avait vraiment l’air intéressant : le pitch de départ était solide, les acteurs très bons, et les premiers épisodes plutôt prometteurs. Et comme la majorité des critiques étaient positives, j’y croyais vraiment.
Mais petit à petit… tout est parti en sucette, comme on dit. Le scénario s’est progressivement éloigné de l’intrigue principale — jusque‑là crédible et fun — pour dériver vers un “fantasy” complètement rocambolesque. Bonjour les références sci‑fi, les cliffhangers à répétition et les clichés inutiles 🙄 On aurait dit qu’ils ne savaient pas comment conclure l’histoire de manière plausible, et qu’en cours de route ils avaient décidé de transformer le tout en récit fantastique pour éviter d’avoir à justifier logiquement les événements et les actions des personnages.
J’ai aussi regretté le manque de développement des personnages féminins (et de leurs relations familiales), ainsi que l’introduction d’une mini sous‑intrigue “romantique” — heureusement très courte — qui n’apportait absolument rien. Si j’ai regardé jusqu’au bout, c’est pour deux raisons : l’espoir que la narration finirait par se reprendre et le jeu du talentueux Namkoong Min.

I couldn't agree with you more about "Goblin" (I was already left perplexed by the important age gap but why did the FL played her role like a 14-year old? Anyway, overall I didn't find that drama particularly good. And yes, I watched it completely. I still remember how looooong it was). I also completely agree with your comments about "Bloodhounds" but you lost me on "Through the Darkness" (I loved the documentary-like / subdued slow drama.
