If you want to enjoy the world of wuxia without the tragic ending, this is your cup of tea. It was a h***y-okay ending. It could've been better, but according to the story, it was reasonable. It's not like those ones where you feel you wasted your time watching the drama. So I'd say this is worth the watch. Somehow light-hearted romance with your typical antihero that can't help but loving in the end. But if you're here because of the "time travel" thing, welp, go look for another one cause this ain't it.

Idk XD Maybe because this seemed like it had a strong fl, so I was reminded of WRTW, hoping for someone who have already watched both commented comparing it, and so it happened.

I really recommend this drama if you want to have a break from the typical wuxia/xianxia.
- No misunderstandings between the main leads.
- No annoying evil second female lead
- No "I'll die for you then you die for me and we both die in the end"
- No annoying love triangle. (She does have another love interest, but is just brief. He gives up for many logical reasons.)
-Not your typical tragic ending

I wish we could see more of this kind in the wuxia world (if you have any recommendation, please comment it below).

I just finished Who Rules The World, tried to watch Love and Redemption and Ancient Love Poetry, but they didn't convince me. After watching WRTW, I'd like to watch another drama where they have a strong female lead like Fengxi., not a dumb ine who "needs" to always be rescued.

Any other recommendations?

Since you liked this one, you may also like "Who Rules The World". It just finished airing and it's pretty amazing. It has a really strong-badass FL and I loved that (referring to the martial arts and wisdom). Not like other wuxia/xianxia dramas where she may know a little bit of martial arts, but still portray her as a damisel in distress. In this one, she's actually stronger than the ML (even though he is also very skilled). From beggining to end her character stayed like that and even improved.

Can someone please tell me about the ending? Is it a happy-satisfying one?

Haven't finished it yet, only 4eps left now. Plan to finish it today. Never thought I would like it this much. When I realized, I already binge-watched half of it on the weekend. haha! I had to pause it for studies and work, but couldn't help watch it in my free time.

Awesome! I do love ancient c-dramas, specially wuxia, but sometimes it gets pretty slow and I tend to skip some eps like you mentioned. Thank you so much for responding!
