By the comments I don't think she falls for asule which breaks my heart because I thought he was the main main…
Sorry to break it to you but there is no longer a marriage. He gave Yu Ran the divorce paper. Lol She ripped it though because she said it’s a fake marriage anyway so there is no need for a paper and they can explain to Ji Ye. This is not a love story about Azule and Yuran. It’s about the journey Azule took and grow to become an emperor of his land. It’s a story of people living through a troubling world. Romance is a minor story.
wah omg. I wonder how they're going to wrap everything up. We're already at ep 34 but I heard there's still so…
He didn’t died. Unless he relinquished because he is the grassland king. And Tianqu serves the emperor of the Eastland. I think that’s my understanding of Tianqu. They have been around for thousands of year but in the series they seems to serve or “keep peace” for the emperor.
The Chinese fans were discussing that if Princess Xiao Xhao became the female emperor, how did Ji Ye became the emperor? That means he would have to overthrown her to be emperor of Dong Lu. Some fans said he will not become emperor. Don’t know.

Is this spoiler based on the book or the actual series? Maybe Azule gave to Ji Ye. Currently, in the series we don’t know if Ji Ye will become leader of Tianqu. When Azule went back to the north, in the trailer he’s still shouting the “armor still here” slogan. I thought in the series Ji Ye will not become the leader because they didn’t exchange the ring like the book. The sword recognizes Azule only.
What is the purpose of Yu Ran in the story other than being a naive cute girl and a triangle between two leads?…
She might have a short arc of her own just like the other supporting characters. I saw previews of her being capture by the Iron Emperor. Right now it’s Tianqi line. However, I don’t think it is going to be that long focus on her since this is a story dominated by male actors. And this story focus on Azule’s growth. The last ten episodes is Azule’s return to the north. We’re at 28 episodes and it’s only 56 episodes. So there is basically about 24 episodes of people contributing to Azule’s growth before his return to the grassland and fight his brothers and unite the north.
lol. I thought the that guy is great. I read somewhere that he established his own dynasty.
Some female will find that type of character endearing. Understand his hardship and his hunger for fame. How miserable he is and loved him for that. I think that’s Yu Ran. Lol
I think you might miss the 2 years gap since they first reunite to the time he volunteered to go to Eastland.…
I didn’t comment on your dislike for Liu Hao Ran before but you shouldn’t even start if you don’t even like him. It’s like your bitter heart already knows to watch and nitpick for criticism.
I read an article somewhere stated that romance is there but not important as friendship shared between the leads.…
The friendship seems separate now after the wedding. Ji Ye betrayed Azule and many people died. Azule moves on to a different city. Not sure if they’ll come together again. I think there is still a scene Ji Ye came to save Azule.
Im worried that only 40 episodes.. is that enough.
Speculated might be 60 eps. But nothing in concrete. I hope it’s 60 for selfishness reason. But if 40 eps and the story is good I’m fine with that too. Meaning there shouldn’t be any filters and dragging scenes.
Douban lists this show as having only has 40 episodes:https://movie.douban.com/subject/26738112/
It was initially 56 episode though. I would have been fine with that. Maybe after halfway done filming, they had better idea that the series can be 40 episodes.

I think 60 eps up is too long. 50 is about right for historical series. I think modern series should be 30 episodes top. A lot of long dramas 60 up drags. 80 eps is ridiculous. I’m disappointed that Novoland is not even 50eps. So I’m hoping that every episodes is going to be so well made.
I'm just curious.. Does Lu Guichen has a happy ending (has a romantic partner & is alive) in the novel??
From the googling translations. Lol
If I’m reading it right. Correct me if I’m wrong. In another arch, Lu Guichen appeared and they mentioned him married another princess.
And he died pretty much alone (not sure what age he passed away) cuz he said something like all he ever lives for was to protect and at the end he lost everyone. And he raised someone’s baby... not sure who’s baby it belonged to.
In Lu’s book... they all separated. The two men became Kings in their own land and promised never to step on each other’s territory.
In another arch, Yu Ran married someone else. Not Himeno either.
OMG thanks for sharing! :D That wall does not look cheap. I'm so excited!
Not sure whether that’s a good thing comparing to T&E considering they bombed it. I did really like the trailer they came up with T&E and was anticipating. Started watching but never finished after 10 episodes.
I hope this one at least will be decent. Trying not to have higher expectations because this may be LHR’s only series next year and if it fails, I’ll be mad. Lol

I hope Eagle Flag will learns from all the failures of other series and focus well on the scripts. I want prettiness but I want quality altogether.
