Honestly, resisted watching this show for a long time as had heard the writer had to change up the story due to the harassment scandal that broke out in S Korea.. Still, am a fan of the revenge genre and decided to check this out.
The writing is top notch on this show-they lay the organ trading business/ racket threadbare and it became too depressingly realistic at times.
Will post a detailed review once done with the show.
I saw this primarily because of Lee Sang Yoon (Have been a fan of his lead role on My Daughter Seo Young and more recently,Whisper) He is great as usual in this but was pleasantly surprised by the lead actress who I had only seen as a psychotic character in Cheese in the Trap and as a weightlifter in her recent drama. She is excellent in this role which requires her to act, dance and sing.
Story is interesting and is coming together well.Lead pair has to gel well for this kind of a show to work and it is happening.
All in all, this looks to be a fun happy show right now.TVN appears to have a much better line-up this year and many of their shows -Hwayugi , Prison playbook,Cross,Lawless Lawyer , My Ajusshi (not seen yet) have done quite well
Unexpectedly awesome! I really like Jung il woo's work and saw this only bcoz he was in it. Really liked the story and the treatment.Liked the female lead for the first time as have not found her that good in other shows.Great work from support cast and the bromance part was awesome..OST grew on me too.
The romance part here is quite interesting.I have a slightly different take on this.
This show seems to have its mind on other things (revenge !!!) and tip toeing around the romance would have given way to a loss of focus here and would have harmed the show in the long run.
Starting the romance in full earnest right now shows the confidence the writer and PD have in their show' story as now no one will have any queries left on Will they, won't they and will follow the show for the action and revenge primarily.
Also, I have seen too many shows in the thriller genre that only give you the romance at the end/ as an afterthought and we always feel the story ended abruptly.
All in all, a brave move that actually lands well!
This is an absolute gem! Combined Great casting, beautiful cinematography, excellent direction, multi layered and ultimately moving story and an awesome OST.
Yoo Ah In was superb in both his roles and brought the characters to life.Support casting was great as well.
Strangely underrated when it aired,I hope people discover this gem in time so that we can get more of this kind of drama.
The show starts like a black comedy and then keeps changing genres effortlessly .Lee Seo Bum was impressive and the rest of th cast was exceptional .Hong Soo Hyun was so pretty here, I kept thinking she will end up being the first female lead.Awesome OST themes !
All in all,a great show if you like to surprise yourself
Completely agree! His character was the most interesting one and they just removed him completely at the end without…
Everyone has their ship. For me, San Eui Hyun is among the best characters I have seen in some time.YWJ really played him well and the final pairing seemed more natural as Han Joon was the son of Jung Joo's brother's actual killer.
Yeon Woo Jin and Park Eun Bin are the biggest strengths of this show.YWJ came across as a superb character in the beginning and end.It was the middle that was unsatisfactory.Still,I ended up liking the show
This would be the sum of the show.It starts off well and has an excellent central mystery and love story to work with. The support cast stories were not that great and that mars your enjoyment somewhat.
But for all this,do give the show a watch Also, the last 3 episodes were excellent as the romance which was kept at bay starts in full bloom. The quality here is just way above the rest of the show..
Agreeed 1000% ! Thanks for posting that. It makes me feel better :)
Sure..I just hope people who havent watched the show so far give it a chance as it is very high quality TV entertainment.By the way, great review for the show so far!
That what I was saying... how can you mourn when you can see your husband in front of you? It's easier to explain…
Thanks.Have now come upto Ep 14 and it really has been a roller coaster emotional ride. Also,I definitely feel it is a top show-just too stressful to keep waiting for each episode. Now that it is done, will complete the show with the balance 4 eps.
This is my top show at the moment and I fear many of my fave shows may get replaced by the time this reaches its end..It is that good.
I usually desist from watching dramas on a live as there is too much stress involved due to cliffhanger nature of the shows. However, this show has enough meat in its story that keeps you thouroghly entertained for the hour and still makes you keep coming back for more.
HIGHLIGHTS
1. Excellently executed action scenes : Lee Jun Ki shines in them
2. Acting : There is a very strong emotional core at play as both male and female leads have lost their parents due to the villains machinations
3. Excellent pace : The drama has shown more in 6 eps than you get in entire 16-20 episode dramas with great pacing
4. Focused show :There is comedy and romance but had does not distract the main story of revenge at all
5. Music :Great selection of instrumental pieces throughout
6.Writing and direction: Cannot praise the writer and director enough for their work on this
All in all,the show has delivered superbly on the initial promise so far.
Wow!There appears to be a lot of heat/hate in many comments.I had stopped watching this around ep 10 as it was becoming too stressful to predict the final couple.I,for one,had shipped Hye Jin with Song Chul since that family needs him more .The cook had been a great husband, son and father to his family and they can better handle the passing away than the Bankers family, which is pretty sad throughout. Looks like the writer will keep us on tenterhooks till the climax.

Happy and light show.. Do watch it
Interesting change of pace for the PD who has mostly done action drama stuff so far.Dont think it will have any action in it.
Also, looks very similar to Judge Vs Judge. However, considering this is written by a Judge, think it will have more depth..

Then, the madness began and I think the drama creators started writing nonsense. This show should have ended in 12 episodes totally.
Sad for Hyun Bin having got wasted in a show like this.
Watch Kill Me Heal Me (KMHM) it is way better written, acted and realized
