The only thing that is very noticeable in the first ep is the heavy-handed post-production. Everything is too smooth and perfect. Like they erased every dust mote and shadow and made the visuals uniform. Usually historicals are a bit raw and gritty to denote the different time period but here everything is too pretty due to heavy colour-grading.

A BL spin for a Thai drama that is very highly rated. I'll be interested in seeing how this adaptation fares. It will be hard to achieve the same level of the original.
