On Till the End of the Moon May 24, 2024
Finally gonna start it after all these time. Love is sweet made me fall in love with the cp, and i was amazed by Leo Luo's acting in Ashes of love. I know i shouldn't be keeping high expectations but i can't help but expect the best. I just hope its not verrry much painful or vexing (i had to give up AOL in between for years when i reached Run Yu's mom's death part... i soo wanted to put my hands inside the screen and strangle the Heavenly empress) and hopefully has an okay ending (i dare not wish for good)

Ep 47 and she's really impressing me out there... She's making me forget her GGS impression
I agree with you on that point tho, unless the story specifically demands the character to be that way, babyish immature fls trying to be all cutesy but are actually cringe and dumb just don't do it for me....

Just finished this :'D Took me forever but it was worth it! Beautiful love story!
Lol I've been at it for almost a year... hoping to finish it by this year. I had to take frequent breaks because of all the angst.

I used to not like Yang Zi, especially acting wise after I watched Go Go Squid. Idk, I just found her acting annoying regardless of the character. The same was true for almost the first half of Ashes of Love and I wasn't expecting much from her but she is really growing on me from the second half. Although i don't find it that good (mostly I feel she lacks a bit depth), especially when I see phenomenal actors like Luo Yun Xi or even the Heavenly Empress sharing the same screen, she is starting to show range, and now I'm kind of curious to see what she has in store in the remaining drama.

It will get better and better every episodes until the end. It's satisfying.
Rewatching episode 30 makes it soo hard not to root for Run Yu... but if i do i know i'll be annoyed and frustrated in the end cause he looses and ends up lonely and all (so much for spoiled endings)... AAAGH I can't wait to finish this and watch Till the End of the Moon... hope he got a good ending there

God I really need the mental strength to make it till ep 32 this time... It has been more than an year since i left it at ep 32 cause i couldn't watch any further. Decided to start it again now and i am already dreading it... i really need to strengthen my mind for all the angst and misunderstandings even since ep 15. Can't wait till we get to the Human Realm arc... it was my fav arc b4

seeing the success of season 1... ig there about 85% chance of us getting a second season... mostly if Ji hoon is on board for it

I don't understand how they want the mc to have grey hair.. like that's a webtoon... if it was an anime the hair colour could be different but it just feels weird for a drama. About the action and fight scenes, I'd say the way they handled it in season 1... they're probably gonna do even better job in season 2 now that I'd hope they'll be having a greater budget. Ranting with you all this time has got me hyped up for the second season 2. I really wanna see how to go with the story now that they'll have more time to explore each character.

Lol no... I'm quite enjoying reading ur views on this... makes me rethink my takes on this show as well. Just been a bit busy with assignments lately TT. My personal opinion for the slight genre change is okay though.... you can't completely copy paste a webtoon and put it as a drama... some alterations are required for media changes and even creative liberty. And i think the directors and the actors pulled it off gracefully. But as you said before... it's all in the pacing for me. 16 long episodes could not only make us connect a lot more to the story and each individual character itself, it would've added a edge and more impact to the suspense and fighting scenes. Also maybe it was me craving for a bit more story.. cause i felt a sense of incompleteness on the ending. Imagine if they started with the main story and this one slightly in flashbacks... we are introduced to this very angry and rabid Shi-eun but we don't know how he got there. We see he mysteriously visits someone in the hospital but who is it? All these questions as we're shown little parts of the flashback until the past and present merge and we'd be looking forward to what comes next now...

Title Go Go Squid!
Watched it half and had it on hold for soo long and now i have decided to finally finish it... God help me
if they went a bit deeper with her character, what i think is that because she grew up too fast(uni at 15... smh), her inner child didnt get to develop and thus she is the woman-child she is now-sometimes she'd act mature and sometimes she'd be annoying as hell ... but instead of the series addressing the issue and how it could be overcome, supports her acts like nothing were wrong... even other characters in the series find nothing wrong with her and rather support her actions. This could've been a very good chance to show how study pressures and growing up too early without experiencing a proper childhood affects a person.... take Sheldon from Big Bang Theory for example... but they wasted it and made it all the more irritating

I was reading a similar webtoon recently: Study Group.... and I know a little bit about how the webtoon version of Weak hero goes. Soo Ho was completely different for example... and this drama just acted like a prequel to the main starting point of the story. Maybe if they went the 1 hr 30 min 16 ep route with the main story and this in flashback style, ig me personally would have enjoyed it more.

I agree, the acting was the what stood out to me the most...especially Ji Hoon's. How he portrayed the character, especially in the last ep was so amazing.

That's what I'm saying, sometimes if tension scenes are too rapid one after the another or long rather than being a bit spaced out, they loose their overall effect, there's no contrast. There's a reason why there are episodes described as 'calm before the storm' or a very happy episode which foreshadows the upcoming turmoils, they overall balance the mood of the series. Anyway, as I said, that's just my opinion or my liking ... I'm no critic, I just watch series for my enjoyment
On Weak Hero Class 1 Apr 22, 2023
while the first half felt a bit dull and monotonous to me, the second half picked up the pace and got me hooked to the story... at the end it was a series of tragedies one after another, and while objectively speaking it was superb in terms of acting, it just wasn't for me with its all-time ominous tone and colors. It's not like i don't enjoy dark stuff, but i like it spaced out with some other stuff in btw or else it kinda feels draggy to me...
